Somfy RTS & RFXCom 433E
Hi,
I just recently bought a house where there is a 4 Way Somfy RTS remote for the sunscreens around the house. Now I want to connect the Somfy RTS to my RFXCOM433E and Domoticz. Maybe a silly question, but just to be sure, when pairing the Somfy RTS to the RFXCom using the Wiki from Domoticz.. will there in any way a connection be deleted between the current Somfy RTS Remote and the sunscreens motors? This because I cannot easy access the sunscreens and I don't want anything to happen between these current links because I cannot access them easy I am not familiar with Somfy at all currently..
Also when I pair the Somfy Remote to Domotiz; will all 4 channels be available in domoticz? This because my symfy Remote uses all 4 channels for sunscreens around the house..
Thanks
Best Regards,

No there will be no connections deleted.
I don't know about the channels because I only use the Up/Down/Stop

Yes. You can program them individually, but be sure to unplug the power of the other screens otherwise they will all learn to respond to the same signal. (The procedure is similar to learning in a remote.)

It seems you can select a unit code (channel) > 4 in Domoticz but only use unit code 1 to 4!

OK. So when setting the remote to a particular motor. I am not then only programming that motor with the signal then when pressing the program button. Problem is that I cannot easy access the power on the different sunscreens, so that is more difficult.. Is there a way to work around this?
I am wondering; pressing the program button on the Remote programs the motors basically and not the remote itself? .. it does not matter then on which motor the Somfy remote is locked on that point because basically it will program all motors at the same time?
Re: Somfy RTS & RFXCom 433E
To be honest, I did this some years ago and did not document the procedure I followed. I can remember that at some point I had to pull the plugs on the other screens.CronoS wrote: ↑Monday 11 July 2022 19:34 OK. So when setting the remote to a particular motor. However, according to this very usefull pdf-document it should be possible without pulling the power of the other screens:

Thanks. It seems to work and I can also confirm that you don't need to cut the power. When setting the Somfy on a particular motor, then only that sunscreen will react when programming. So I needed to program it 4 times on 4 different id's for 4 different motors.
Only thing that is a little bit of a disappointment.. When controlling a motor using the remote; it is not seen by Domoticz. With Cacu; pressing a remote button is also seen by domoticz.. so then it does not matter where you push the button. Now with Somfy it can happen that the screens are closed, but Domoticz still thinks that they are open... But besides that it works ok

Yes, the resaon is that Somfy uses a different frequency (433.42MHz), and rfxtrx can send both (433.42MHz and 433.92MHz), but cannot listen to both at the same time.CronoS wrote: ↑Tuesday 12 July 2022 19:32 Only thing that is a little bit of a disappointment.. A solution could be to use a kaku (coco) remote to control (open/close) your screens through Domoticz, but then you loose the 'stopped' function.
I've learned to live with occasional inconsistencies.

Yes... with the cacu remote was exactly what I wanted to do I think I am not using the Somfy remote anymore.. Then domoticz and the sunscreens are then in sync...plugge wrote: ↑Wednesday 13 July 2022 13:46Yes, the resaon is that Somfy uses a different frequency (433.42MHz), and rfxtrx can send both (433.42MHz and 433.92MHz), but cannot listen to both at the same time.CronoS wrote: ↑Tuesday 12 July 2022 19:32 Only thing that is a little bit of a disappointment.. Re: Somfy RTS & RFXCom 433E
Hello,
RFXCOM - RFXtrx433 USB 433.92MH hardware enables you to send command to Somfy controlled blinders from Domoticz application.
However you cannot get the current state of the blinder in Domoticz if you control it using a remote controller because RFXCOM does not receive the information.
One way to solve the issue it to install a RFLink Gateway USB and setup a RFLink hardware to get the current state of the blinder whether it is controlled by Domoticz or by a remote controller.

Re: Somfy RTS & RFXCom 433E
Goodmorning,
Can somebody tell me about the wireless range of the RFXCom 433E. Is this signal strong enough to controll blinds on the first floor and the RFXCom is in the switchbox cabinet (meterkast) on the ground floor of the house? We have a new house (build in 2019) 2 houses under 1 roof with concrete floors.
Currenty I have only one sunscreen with a Somfy RTS motor, stand alone controlled with the somfy pure telis 1 remote.
I want to buy blinds for the first floor also with somfy RTS motors. The idea is to buy an RFXCOM module to controll all somfy motors with domoticz.
I think it's an useless expensive solution to buy blinds with Somfy IO motors, because an somfy tahome box is required to controll all the blinds with domoticz. So the second question is if RFXCOM and Somfy RTS is the way to go if all blinds still needs to be bought.
Thanks for advice!

Re: Somfy RTS & RFXCom 433E
I can control my blinds between two walls (same level), about 10 meter distance
This it with the default antenna and never had a single miss
It is also possible to connect an external 433Mhz antenna (don't buy the cheap once with a long black cable and a small box), but a real one like

(Not sure if this is legal)

Re: Somfy RTS & RFXCom 433E
For your information. I can confirm the RFXcom with standard antenna has enough range to control Somfy RTS blinds when the RFXcom is placed in the ground floor and the blinds on the first floor applied in a house of 2019 with concrete floors.thebartzman wrote: ↑Thursday 09 February 2023 8:11 Goodmorning,
