In the beginning life was easy, flashed a Sonoff S20 with Tasmota, create a simple dummy switch, entered the switch idx in the device config and it worked.
After struggling for some time with Shelly 2.5 for blinds, somebody adviced: Use MQTT Auto Discovery. So I entered homeassistant as prefix in MQTT Client Gateway with LAN interface. Bingo there was a switch (blind + stop) created. Bingo, this seems to work. Blinds are not connected yet. To avoid a lot of up & down for testing.
However, my dummy switches for the Sonoff S20 devices do not work anymore in Domoticz. Only with the button on the device or the Tasmota WebUI.
What is going on here?
What is the difference between a Dummy switch and a created switch after Auto Discovery?
Is there an easy way to solve this issue?

Re: After discovery Tasmota device, dummy switch not working anymore
I think this is normal behavior, the auto discovery creates new devices and the old manual created devices are not used anymore
RPI4 Beta / Tasmota / ZigBee2MQTT / P1meter / Haier AC MQTTmapper / SolarEdge SE3500H modbus_tcp / Marstek Venus / Opentherm gateway / Plugwise Anna/Smile / ObserverIP weatherstation thru WuDirect

But the devices have Auto Discovery Off in Tasmota (SetOption19 0) and there are no new devices created in Domoticz.

I don't see any relation (yet) with MQTT discovery and any dummy device not being updated. I am pretty sure my TASMOTA power socket switched update their Domoticz dummy switch and power consumption sensor fine via the direct Domoticz config in TASMOTA and also see the discovery and status update stuff in MQTT at the same time.

For my understanding, the only relation Domoticz dummy switch <==> Tasmota Device is the domoticz device idx number?jvdz wrote: Sunday 19 December 2021 11:45 I don't see any relation (yet) with MQTT discovery and any dummy device not being updated. When a device is created by Discovery, do you have to enter the Domoticz device idx in the Tasmota WebUI for good operation?

Correct, this is filled in in the ESP webinterface on page: http://192.168.x.x/dm?McMelloW wrote: Sunday 19 December 2021 12:02 For my understanding, the only relation Domoticz dummy switch <==> Tasmota Device is the domoticz device idx number?
Nope ... The devices should be create automatically when TASMOTA's MQTT CONFIG payload is read by Domoticz the first time and are automatically updated via MQTT after that.McMelloW wrote: Sunday 19 December 2021 12:02 When a device is created by Discovery, do you have to enter the Domoticz device idx in the Tasmota WebUI for good operation?
