Process: 3454 ExecStart=/etc/init.d/domoticz.sh start (code=exited, status=0(SUCCES)

Post by JanCLinux »

Hello,
Hopefully somebody could help me to solve my problem.

I have installed Domoticz on a Samsung NC10 with Linux Mint Debbie.
I managed to complete the installation of Domoticz dispite the issues with the install.sh script which points towards the wrong tgz-file
Unfortunately domoticz won't start properly.
When I check the status it states:

............:~/domoticz$ sudo service domoticz status
● domoticz.service - LSB: Home Automation System
Loaded: loaded (/etc/init.d/domoticz.sh; generated)
Active: active (exited) since Sat 2021-11-20 20:48:11 CET; 6s ago
Docs: man:systemd-sysv-generator(8)
Process: 3454 ExecStart=/etc/init.d/domoticz.sh start (code=exited, status=0/SUCCESS)

nov 20 20:48:11 janlinux-nc10 systemd[1]: Starting LSB: Home Automation System...
nov 20 20:48:11 janlinux-nc10 domoticz.sh[3454]: start-stop-daemon: unable to start /home/janlinux/domoticz/domoticz (Exec for
nov 20 20:48:11 janlinux-nc10 systemd[1]: Started LSB: Home Automation System.

Can somebody help me on this?
Many thanks in advance,
Jan

On your first question:
Might there be some more info after... unable to start /home/janlinux/domoticz/domoticz (Exec for >> No, that's everything

On the second:
uname -a
Linux janlinux-nc10 4.19.0-18-686 #1 SMP Debian 4.19.208-1 (2021-09-29) i686 GNU/Linux

I think that is but probably not showing on the screen, because the line does not wrap.
Here it show all available downloads https://releases.domoticz.com/releases/?dir=beta
I suppose you downloaded the *x86_64.tgz file and I wonder if that could run on your i686 system. :?:
because of the unable to start /home/janlinux/domoticz/domoticz error. That's why I asked for the Exec for part.

That makes sense!

What would be the right package for a 32 bit machine?

I think that in your case compiling your self would be the right solution, if that is possible.
Because the only 32 bit ( domoticz_linux_armv7l.tgz ) is for arm processors.
