Tuya Zigbee 3.0 Switch Module MS-104Z with ZiGate+

Post by djdehaan »

Hi all,

I have a Tuya Zigbee 3.0 Switch Module MS-104Z. I try pairing with the ZiGate+ controller (Zigbee 3.0), but see no response at all. Is such module not supported, or is my setup still not working?

This is the device:

Thanks.

To give you some hint this is from what I know (I check on the French forum, a particular device, when it is about reset). Make sure you have the final setup with Led in place and a physical switch as well, and the reset is done via the Physical switch

Is that your case ?

That switch apparently also has also RF available next to Zigbee. Is that a risk as your neighbor can connect to this switch over RF without security?

@Pipiche, I reset and pair it with the hardware key on the device. But I do not have any load or switch connected to it. I will add that tonight to see if that changes the behaviour, thanks!

@Waltervl Hmm, I dont want it to have RF, will check you link as well.Thanks.

I am happy to share with you that this device does pair with my ZiGate+ (v2). To be able to do that, I
1. connected a load to it (lamp), and an actual rocker
2. connected it to 230v AC
3. kept the hardware button pushed for a long time. First it responds with 2 short beeps, then after a while (keep pusing) a long series of beeps appear. At that moment I can pair the device and it appears in Domotics. And I can control the lamp from Domoticz and the Rocker position shows up in Domoticz. So that is all I want!!

Re. the RF insecurity as reported: As long as I do not tell the device my WiFi security, and I do not put it again in pairing mode, I gues I am safe??

Thanks for the co-thinking and please add comments on the security issue if you like.

Regards,
DJ

Congratulations! :-)

RF:
I hear that people with an RF controller can communicate with every switch that is in range. That is why they switch off "add hardware" as they constantly get the neighbors RF switches in their Domoticz environment.
