Moisture % XT300 keeps rising

Post by Venzent »

Just bought 2 XT300 soil moisture sensors for my plants.
The % humidity keeps rising instead of becoming less during the time. When I add water, I see a peak, some time later a drop and then again it starts rising.
Both the sensors acts the same.....

Any thoughts on this??

Hi Nettime,
Thanks for the response. Lately the line seems to make more sense, the range is between 95% full wet, and 70% for dry.
I dont onderstand your trend. Slowely raising grom 24th april, and then a steady line. Do you water your plants daily?

Hi all,
also for my project I have some trouble with the opus/xt300 data sensor,
sometime data seems to be correct but in the next time the data goes wrong (temperature: -40, and channel 0). This because the rtl_433 receiver can analyze the wave but it can't decode the signal and catch 0 values for moisture, temperature and channel...(into the script the temp was tem= 0 - 40--> then -40)

in your opinion what are the causes of these wrong data?
thank you!

Hi All,

curious issue with the XT300 : I purchased one unit over a year ago which i found to be really good. Placed it outside and it worked consistently well throughout the year, through the hot months and cold months, so i just purchased an additional 3 units (with one to spare in case one gets broken).
All three units I received are showing a value of 99% for humidity, almost constantly. It sometimes goes down to perhaps 94 but it doesn't seem to be in relation with the wetness of the soil. I actually put my old one together with my new one and my old one is reading 32% while the new one, 99% as always. I would have put it down to a faulty unit but all three units are showing the same thing? Is it possible i've purchased all three from a faulty batch?

You mean Temperature and moisture together? That will be shown if you open the log of the combined Temp+Hum device.
