How to make a Dimmer work in Domoticz ?
Hi ,
I read all kind of different topics about making a dimmer work in Domoticz but I do not succeed so far.
I have a Design Ledlamp from a brand called: Paul Neuhaus.
I do not know the dimmer type
When the lamp switches on via Domoticz the LEDs give full light that almost burns your eyes.
I want the lamp at about 15 or 20%
How can I get this right ?
Does someone has a step by step instruction for this ?

Re: How to make a Dimmer work in Domoticz ?
I don't think so. From what I can see:
You have a Blitzwolf plug (on/off) connected to domoticz. In that plug a Paul Neuhaus Design Ledlamp is plugged in. The dimmer on that ledlamp is not wireless connected (or you did not supply the details) and is not connected to Domoticz.
So if you want to start with another dimlevel as default you will have to look into the manual of the ledlamp if that is possible.
The blitzwolf plug acts for the ledlamp as if you plug in/out the ledlamp from a normal powerplug in the wall, not like you switch on/off the lamp on is own build in power switch/dimmer.
If the ledlamp should be able to be remotely controlled by the ledlamp controller itself (and not by the blitzwolf plug) you should give us more details about the ledlamp controller.

Waltervl,
Thanks for your input.
I do not have any details but I will try to find them. There was no manual with the Neuhaus lamp.

That is indeed the case.
So is there a possibility to let the lamp act like it is not plugged from the wall socket ??
A simple normal dimmer block which lies on the ground and can be operated by foot with slide works fine with the Blitzwolf plug.
So what can be the difference between the LEd lamp and the other on with the ' foot dimmer' ?
Thanks for your input.

Re: How to make a Dimmer work in Domoticz ?
Probably the dimmer in the Neuhaus is an electronic dimmer that sets to a default when power has been switched off. But without more details of the lamp/dimmer there is not more to know.....

Re: How to make a Dimmer work in Domoticz ?
True, would there be a possibility to imitate that behaviour ?
So as long as power is on it it seems to hold the default (which is about 25% of the full light)
And then keep the Blitzwolf on all the time and during set the % of light to 0% during the night and when lit keep it to 25% .
Is that possible in one way or another ??
Thaks in advance

Re: How to make a Dimmer work in Domoticz ?
Those devices can only switch on/off by cutting the power so i cannot see that your request can be fullfilled.
The only solution would be to replace the dimmer inside your ledlamp with a compatible tasmota dimmer. Depends on your electronics skills

Re: How to make a Dimmer work in Domoticz ?
Thanks.
Can a place a tasmota dimmer externally on this ?
if not I will keep this lamp outside Domoticz. (it was too expensive to modify it internally)

I do not think it is wise to dim a dimmer with another dimmer bit I am no electronic engineer.
