[Choise for domoticz:]
Bought a lot of KAKU stuff years ago and used it a lot. Never bought the KAKU ICS because of the limitations (only kaku). With the Raspberry Pi and the RFXCOM, besides KAKU, temperature sensors can be read. Let's see how far I can get.
[My role here?] I want to help where I can with answers.

[Country:] The Netherlands
[City:] Eindhoven
[Occupation:] DBA\Technical Web-Application Administrator
[Hobbies:] Computers, gadgets, gaming, nature, reptiles (pets)
[Choise for domoticz:]
I am using domoticz for a while now in a virtual machine on my server with a P1 converter cable to see my gas and power usage.
Last week i migrated to a Raspberry Pi, and this week i bought a Aeon LAbs z stick and a nuon\greenwave smart plug to use in my reptile room. I want to replace ~20 timers with a single system for managing the lightning (heat lamps, uvb lamps).
If the system proves to be stable, i want to replace the thermostats in the terrariums too, by using temperature sensors in combination with heatpads and keramic heat lamps. Should be able to do this with Domoticz' scenes.
[My role here?] I want to lookup information, ask questions and will report problems and bugs.

[Choice for domoticz:]
About to order my first z-wave parts but Domoticz looks like it has all the elements I want as a controller, plus the ability to hook into anything else. I plan on running on my Synology NAS, initially in chroot until there is a Domoticz synocommunity package with OpenZWave support out of the box. I am starting with heating zones then moving onto lighting and scenes based system integration elsewhere in the house later on.
[MyEquipment]Synology 1512+, Aeon Z-Stick S2 then either DIY via Secure SSR302 2 channel Boiler Reciever, Eurotronic StellaZ TRVs, Philio PSP01 Multi-sensors or getting evohome if the integration to it comes into Domoticz...
[My role here?] Still learning home automation but know software and linux so will help where I can and pick up a few things whilst I do

[Occupation:] IT Support engineer, connectivity and VoIP specialist
[Hobbies:] Playing music and singing, Motorcycle riding ,Woodworking, Computers, Gadgets, Small(simple) electronics and µC projects for fun and comfort.
[Choise for domoticz:]
I'm dutch, work hard for my money and don't mind to put in some hobby hours and effort to save some bucks.
Our house isn't that big, but when we bought is fourteen years ago i replaced all the wiring. Since i don't want to do it all over again, i am thinking about a modular sollution for my home automation discovery journey.
I have a Windows 2012 running 24/7 that i want to use for my project. Domoticz is installed and now it's time to discover. I hope to find some support here, alltough some question may sound stupid to the more experienced users.
- Would like Z-Wave communication to use with z-wave modules i will mount in existing wallswitches.
- Expanding my setup over time, room by room, to spread costs en gradually become familiar with the system.
- Add PIR sensors to detect movement in the house to control lights, heating and security.
- Add temperature sensor(s) to control the central heating.
- Add relayboard.
- Whatever comes to mind along my way into the wonderfull world of domotica.
[My role here?] Annoying newbie with a lot of questions for you and hopefully some experience further down the road that enables me to help others answer their questions.
