Garage remote control - 868,35 Mhz

Post by rgroothuis »

At our garage there is an automatic gate that is controlled by a "Fadini Birio 2" transmitter. This remote control is using the 868,35 Mhz frequency. Is there a way to build a transmitter controlled by Domoticz sending the open signal on the 868.35 Mhz frequency?

Today I'm using a remote control with an Fibaro Smart Implant but recently it stopped working, I'm still investigating but I guess I'm to far away from the receiver so I want to have a stronger transmitter, if possible.

Any suggestions?

you can look at rflink or rfxcom,

rflink: http://www.rflink.nl/blog2/development
rfxcom: http://www.rfxcom.com/

both are supported by domoticz.

Thanks for the suggestion, did some scanning of those two devices and couldn't find anything like: "Fadini" or "Birio" as supported products. So I'm wondering how to get this working when using one of those devices. Maybe those devices can handle the frequency but then they also need to talk the correct protocol, they need to learn the frequency/protocol from an existing remote control, at least that is how I need to setup a new remote (using an older working remote and the new one learns from the old one).

The support from RFXCom is very good,
You could send a email and maybe the device for some days
RFXCom is a dutch company

Thanks. Good suggestion. I’m Dutch as well.

I suppose a rolling code is used by this remote (as most garage door openers use)
It could not be implemented if a rolling code is used.

Correct, there is a rolling code involved, that is my concern indeed as well.
Today I've soldered wires on the button that needs to be pressed on that remote control and together with a Fibaro Smart Implant I can control the fence of the garage. If it is stable and working good I don't need another solution. But if that is not working (stable) I will contact that RDXCom company to see if they can help.
