Philips Hue remote dimmer switch, not all buttons working

Post by pocock »

I went to the Scenes tab and created a Group

I added a bulb to the group

Then I clicked to Add Device

I pressed the button on the Philips remote and it was added in the group

Pressing the button with the big asterisk (*) symbol turns on the group (bulb), log entry like this:

domoticz[548]: (zigate0) UpdateDevice - (zigate0 - RWL021_LvlControl-0017xxxx-02) 1:48
domoticz[548]: Activating Scene/Group: [g0]
domoticz[548]: Activating Scene/Group Device: sitting room ceiling (On)
domoticz[548]: (zigate0) UpdateDevice - (sitting room ceiling) 1:67

Pressing the button with the little asterisk also turns on the group but I found that I have to press it more than once

Pressing other buttons has no impact on the group.

Can anybody provide more details about how to setup the Philips Hue dimmer buttons or it is not fully supported?

I have the dimmers setup via the native domoticz - Hue bridge on the hardware tab and all 8 types of button-presses (on, off, increase dim, decrease dim * (long , short) ) are recognized immediately so I assume the issue is related to your zigate implementation.

I have a Hue bridge that I hoped to avoid using

Is there any hope for this to work with Zigate or any other strategy?

Are you going to report it on the Domoticz-Zigate/issues list ?

I created an issue there but they recommend asking here first

Please do use the Zigbee forum here if you believe that is an issue on the integration.

No clue how the Scene/Group works, from my understanding they are not supported by the plugin as the Zigate and the plugin support native Group.

So I would say that your problem might be related to Device <-> Group/Scene and may be the Device Update doesn't correspond to what the Scene/Group expects !
