Live status does not work? Aeotec...

Post by binbo »

Hi all,

I switched to z-wave for the "live status" / "reporting if the device is ON or OFF"

This doesn't seem to work - All of my devices are Aeotec z-wave+ devices - and i have the aeotec z-stick

But in Domoticz - if I manually go and press a switch to "ON" on a smart switch 6 - Domoticz does not know about the new state. Even if i refresh the page. It doesn't get told.

Can anyone help?

Thanks.

Look in the Z-Wave console (in Domoticz) to see if the device status reflects the actual situation.

Z-wave is capable of keeping things in sync but it also depends on what is actually implemented in the devices.

First figure out if your z-wave controller (the stick) is aware of the actual state. Otherwise Domoticz can not know this.

Hi,

I finally managed to check this - thanks for the idea @kiddigital!

In my OpenZWave control panel - all devices are reporting correctly - but in domoticz - some are showing as “ON” when they are off, and they are correctly reported as off in OZW.

What does this mean? And what can I do?

Many thanks.

Yes I have the same issue, it was introduced after the newer OZW1.6.

Any way to fix this anyone?

It kind of takes away the best feature of z-wave.

Can you provide some screenshots of the OZW panel before and after switching.. same for the corresponding device in Domoticz and post the Domoticz log (preferably with Debug enabled, see startup parameters) of that time-window?

Is your RPi a 3 or 4?
Aeotec 5 Z-Wave stick knows problems with RPi 4.

I have the same issues, but running domotiz on my synology.

I even tried to make a fresh install of domoticz, my database and zwave components.

But still facing the issues :(

Aeotec Gen5 stick nows problems with USB 3 ports, it can be solved to use a USB 2 Hub.
This is what I read on Internet.

Have you tested to use the USB 2.0 port in the front of DS412+ ?
If you like the work I do for synology and domoticz, I appreciate a donation.

Cheers guys - I will find pi model, usb info, and get logs and stuff when I get home.

But...

I’ve got a feeling it’s not a usb 3 issue, or even a pi model issue - as the z-stick is reporting correct status to OZW

The status is always correct in OZW.

It makes me suspect it’s the link between ozw and domoticz.

But... I’ll get and provide info very soon

Many thanks.

Bit of a late reply - but I’m in same situation.

It’s 100% domoticz issue not talking to OZW.

Z-wave devices report perfect in open z-wave control panel.
In domoticz - it’s not working.

It’s not a usb3 or pi issue - as like I said, ozw is working fine.
