[Resolved]:Outside Temperature (OT), ISense, Buienradar, Remeha Tzerra

Post by CaptainSlow »

Hello Gents,

I've got a nice and working OTGW on the LAN using wifi serial bridge and basically all is working just fine.

What I'want to do is control my boiler using the outside temperature which I get in domoticz using Buinen-radar.
The OTGW appears to understand the manual command OT=<xx> which I did a couple of times from the hardware tab in domoticz.

What I want to understand is how to normal way of using the Isense icm with the outside temperature should work.....
Sohere my questions:
* Where is the out side temperature being stored or used?...Is that the thermostat (my isense),...the boiler or both?
* The outside temperature gauge (if you have one) is physically connected to the boiler. The boiler sends this value to the Isense?..
* Im looking for a solution where I use the outside (feel) temperature in domoticz which I get from the buineradar device and then send this regularly to the OTGW which as mentioned above appears to understand this command.

Any answer, suggestion or reply appreciated...

hi,

I noticed your OTGW version 4.0b5
mine is running 4.2.5 (bought early 2020) ...

Yeah...you are right. Strange indeed. I just programmed the latest hex file using OT-monitor. Need to check that...

Update: I added the hardware in domoticz BEFORE I updated the firmware. Thats probably the reason:)

Hello Eddie,...you were right...It was the wrong firmware. Probably clicked the wrong download on the otgw side and never looked back:)
I've got the latest now using OTmonitor updating the firmware.

;) good to see that the FW is correct now.

In my case my Tzerra gets the outside temp from my OTGW ...
my Plugwise Anna does not expose outside temp (at least not to domoticz) ...

Hello Eddie,

Thx.....so did you connect a temp sensor to GPIO port B?...Like the site mentions?

DS1820 (GPIO port B only) - Data line for a DS18S20 or DS18B20 temperature sensor used to measure the outside temperature. A 4k7 resistor should be connected between GPIO port B and Vcc.

I did a couple of more testsusing the OT command in the hardware tab of domoticz but first I adjusted the Isense thermostat settings and chaged it OTC + RT which basically means Outside temp control + room temperature so now the isense "listens" to both in order to decide what the control setpoint needs to be.
I immedaitly got an error on the isense display with code F200 which means not Outside temperature communication. Then I manually submitted the OT command in domotocz et voila the F200 error code was gone.
This is at least promising but now I have to find a way to automatically submit the OT values based on the buienradar data I already have in domoticz.

any diea's?

Ok...this proofed to be a standard feature within Domoticz. Didn't notice it. You can easily select a sensor in the hardware tab of the OTHW selecting a temp sensor which I already got. Its all working fine now. The Isense thermostat receives the real outside temp from the OTGW and domoticz sends it every 10 minutes to the OTGW.
Much easier then i thought......

Hi CaptainSlow,

Could you tell me if the outside temperature becomes vissable on the iSense? And if so, can you share a picture of the screen and maybe the version of the iSense?

Thanks!
