No hardware after having updated RFXcom433E to latest FW.

Post by franzel »

@all,

Yesterday I updated my RFXcom433E to the latest version. After the procedure seemed to have been finished successfully, data was written and having pushed choosen the Runmode Domoticz didn't work anymore. After a while and having rebooted via the commandline Domoticz started again but no hardware was found. I guess due to a missing RFXcom device. Pushing hardware didn't respond neither.
Present firmware was 2020.2. Then I placed the SD card with an older version but with equal result.

After having performed all kind of things, due to the annoyance I can't recall what I've done, besides having flshed the RFXcom433E, I still owed a non working system. :o  I started reading on the internet whether I might have done something wrong, which IMHO wasn't the fact. Out of the blue Domotics seemed to work again properly. The RFXcom433E was working again too but with the FW of Januar hich I flashed the last time.

I just flashed the RFXcom433E with the latest firmware and again 'no hardware' so I urgently need help. :( :(
Is there some special procedure that has to be followed to get my system getting to work properly but with the last firmware on my Device?

Thanks in advance.

Update!!!!

After just having switched once to the previous version of Domotics where some devices were triggeren once, two blinds went down, Domotics webserver showed offline. At last I put back the SD card with the latest FW (2020.2) but still no result. Domoticz seemed to be online again but still no hardware. I rebooten several times and suddenly all seemed to be working again properly so for now I'm happy again.

The cause of all this misery will remain misterious. For now this issue is 'solved'. :D :D :D :D

Are you using "persistent USB ports" ? (described on this wiki page )
Debian buster, bullseye on RPI-4, Intel NUC.

I did lsusb but no rfxcom was seen.
I know the procedure from the use in Enigma and will certainly try to perform this solution.

Thanks for now.

Code: Select all

sudo lsusb -v | grep 'idVendor\|idProduct\|iProduct\|iSerial'

That gives actually more information. I’ll change it as soon as possible.
Due to health-issues it’ll have to wait a while. For now most things work like before. The blockly scenario’s I would like to create will have to wait too.
