Thermostat: which one to chose?

The plan is to invest in a new themrostat and I am looking for one which can be controlled via Domoticz. Most of the thermostats store stuff in the cloud (Nest, ThermoSmart) or are not able to use Opentherm.

I am looking for a connected thermostat, which is Wifi or Z-wave). Device should not be dependent of the cloud and store data only locally. It shoukld be able to use OpenTherm.

I doubt if there are any connected thermostats which do no store data in the cloud. If this is the case I would probably go for the ThermoSmart.
