Zigate and tradfri motion sensor

Hi guys,

I have this tradfri motion sensor. It works when I pair it with Zigate and a bulb. But my question is, can it work as a standalone motion sensor and make a script to activate non tradfri or zigbee devices?

Maybe it works the same as the tradfri 5 button remote as a standalone with left and right button actions.
Please let me know what you're experiences are.

You need to add Zigate to the group of the bulb and the motion.

So in short
1 you pair the motion with Zigate
2 you pair the motion with the bulb
3 you add the Zigate to the group created by motion/bulb pairing

As for the ikea remote

If you use the plugin 4.5 with a recent domoticz you will have the user interface for managing it

Would it be possible to disconnect the bulb from that group and them only have an active motion sensor like the situation with astandalone 5b remote not paired with a bulb.

I would say yes, in The group management (Web Interface) you remove the Bulb from that group. So you'll get a group with only the Zigate - as the Motion is not seen there -
And you should get all Motion detected in the Motion Widget under domoticz

The motion sensor can be used stand-alone when deleting a bulb in the webUI of Zigate en restarting it. It is important to leave the check mark behind group. This way you can use it with devices with other protocols, like wifi (mqtt), Zwave or 433mhz through a script.

How does this work for you?

I am looking to add a Tradfri motion sensor as well. And based on the movement I want to trigger a script.

I am using Conbee and deCONZ. Basic question is: does it work in a similar way as the Aeotec multisensors I have?

This is exactly how it works when you follow what @gerbenvanasselt mentioned.

How you do that with the Conbee/deCONZ , it might be good to post your question on an other post, as that one relate to Zigate

Well, I have one of the latest motion sensor hardware (ref E1745) and I definitively cannot pair the motion sensor with a bulb AFTER I have successfully paired the bulb with Zigate and successfully paired the motion sensor with the Zigate.

On the other side, I can successfully pair the bulb and the motion sensor BEFORE having paired the sensor with the Zigate. But then I lose the pairing of the bulb with the Zigate and I cannot add anymore the sensor to the Zigate.

I have tried this several time and have always the same behavior.

Anyone else here ?

i can confirm i have the same situation with my recently bought E1745. i cannot pair with a bulb after succesfully paired with zigate. And if i only pair with zigate and i have the widget in domoticz i cannot see adn use the events from motion sensor. log is empty.
