Zigate and Tradfri ON/OFF E1743

Post by gerbenvanasselt »

I bought two on/off buttons with two bulbs. In my setup I allready have one e1743 button to control a light. The button works somehow on the same 0000 as the xiaomi in wall switch. It made a group with the xiaomi switch. After deleting the xiaomi switch and adding the bulb, the tradfri e1743 is working as on/off button and dim the light.

When adding the other tradfri e1743 remotes to Zigate and pair them with two seperate bulbs my groupmanagement started failing. When restarting the plugin It started deleting other groups and devices from groupmanagement. After deleting the e1743 remote from domoticz and a few rescans of the groups my basic groups are back again.

The question now is. Is it possible to use the tradfri e1743 remotes without making them member of a group. Without adding them to a group they both control the light which is connected to the first e1743 remote.

Would it be possible to use the remotes without putting them in a group? The actions do not show in the log only the light of the first group goes on/off. So triggering the selector levels with a script won't work.

Next thing I am already using the Zigate in 5 groups which is the max.

Would it be possible to pair the light and the remote with Zigate and then pairing them together and without adding them to group.

Will you guys help me finding a solution.

thanks

What I suspect is when you started the plugin after having added the 2nd On/off you probably ask the plugin to rescan the group, however the file ZigateGroupConfig was still there (I think there is an issue on that matter on stable branche, and I thought it was fixed on beta but can be wrong).

Did you try to do a pairing between the On/off and a Bulb, somehow like with a Ikea Remote ( 5 buttons ) ?

Is this the reason the Tradfri ON/OFF E1743 can't be added to a Zigate group anymore?

I don't know what you mean by adding the ON/Off to a Zigate groupe, but it has never been possible to do it directly from the plugin, you need to pair the ON/OFF button directly with the Bulb you want to

I did pair with zigate and the bulbs.. I want to include them in the groups too, just like i can with the 5 button remote. Reason is that the plugin detects activity and the devices dissapear in this view:
health.PNG
health.PNG (11.61 KiB) Viewed 2113 times
I did this with the five button remotes (see image down 'Remote woonkamer') and after adding them to the groups, they don't appear as unseeen anymore:
group.PNG
group.PNG (12.89 KiB) Viewed 2113 times
And in case someone wants just to use the remote for controlling something else beside zigbee bulbs, it would be handy to have the remote together with zigate in the group to receive the button events in domoticz.

It is the same as the 5 buttons, you had to pair it with one bulb to start with.

You have first to create a group via the direct pairing between Bulb and Remote (switch, motion sensor and 5 buttons).

The fact that you can add the Ikea 5 button into the group is just to allow the management of the left/righ button to manage color.

It has always been like that

I know the 5-button remote can be added to the group. You can put it in a group together with ZiGate to just catch the push-events.

My question actualy is: Why this can be done with the 5-button remote and not with the 2 button remote. Is there a reason not to allow this? (This thread gave me the idea that this kind of remote messed things up when added to a group)

This is the 2 button remote device in domoticz:
Switch.PNG
Switch.PNG (30.74 KiB) Viewed 2093 times
There are these 5 different events available that can be catched if the remote is allowed with ZiGate in a group. At least i would think so, because with the 5-button this could be accomplished.

As explained already , the fact that the Remote 5 Buttons can be added to the group (is just to enable the Left/right button to control the Color, in reallity the Remote is added to the group when you are pairing it with the Bulb.

So there is no reason at that stage to have the switch available in the Group management.

With a zigate it does, you have to make Zigate as part of the same group created during the pairing of the switch and a bulb

Not sure it is you, it is for sure lack of documentation.

If the current status is, Switch and Bulb paired together and paired to Zigate.
What you need to do are :

(1) make sure Group is enable. You will see in the Web Admin page -> Settings
(2) In Web Admin page go to Admin -> Group -> Rescan Group
(3) Restart the plugin

after a while, you can check on the Web Admin page go to Group Management where you should see a group id where the Bulb is part of it.
(4) Add Zigate to the group by tick the box

Restart the plugin

After that, you should be able to see the event

Thank you for your quick reply
After succesfully paired the sqared button and the led driver to Zigate via Domoticz i tried to pair the the devices with touchlink (is the right way?) and now the switch is controlling the led driver but domoticz cannot control the led driver anymore , no group under the web admin so im stuck.

Was not able to gho to ikea and pruchase , but can you do a test

(1) switch to plugin beta branche if not yet done ( git checkout beta )
(2) get the latest version of the plugin beta ( git pull)

(3) Start the plugin, wait for 1 minute and then go to the WebAdmin -> Settings -> Advanced and enable zigatePartOfGroup0000 like here after

(4) Restart the Plugin
(5) Pair the Remote Switch with Zigate

and try to use it , in order to see if the widget is updated ?
Would appreciate to get any logs ( for that enable debugInputs )

For the 2nd and 3rd issue, please do a

Code: Select all

git pull
and make sure that youy have the latest version of the plugin beta branch. This issue has been fixed.

For the 1st, you might have updated/changed the file

Code: Select all

/usr/local/domoticz/var/plugins/Zigate/Conf/DeviceConf.txt
and there is an issue on it.
If the issue persist after the git pull, do a

Code: Select all

git reset --hard
