EdwinK, I think I've found the issue. I reinstalled my complete domoticz setup and after a couple of days I got the same error, complaining about 'somename' .
  • My player, in the logitech media server hardware screen, was called 'somename')
  • My player, in the 'switch' screen was called, 'somenameLMS'.
When I changed the device name (in switch screen) back to 'somename' the error disappeared.
(I'm running beta 4.10394 on synology nas)
Going to take a look into this.
Running latest BETA on a Pi-3 | Toon® Thermostat (rooted) | Hue | Tuya | IKEA tradfri | Dashticz V3 on Lenovo Huawei Tablet | Conbee

Hello all.
I have a problem with the first or second variant of squeezealert.pl (https://www.domoticz.com/wiki/Logitech_Media_Server)

I will describe it in points:
1. The radio is on
2. Enter the command:
   script://sqalert.sh kitchen Ring04.wav Ring06.wav 60
a. the volume changes to 60
b. "Ring04" is heard then
c. "Ring06" is heard
d. the volume returns to its original state
e. The radio does not turn on again.

Has anyone encountered such a case? How to fix it?

Here I have a movie showing the problem.

Is a playlists folder defined in your LMS settings? Even if you don’t use playlists you have to define a folder for them as that is where the info about what was playing before the alert is temporarily saved.

Thank you very much.

It's true that the path was set but the folder rights were at 755  , I changed to 777 and it works.

Thanks again ... :)

Good point. I've updated the wiki article to mention that the linux permissions on the playlist folder should be at least 666. Other than that, was the wiki clear enough?

I have not been using the Logitech Media Server in Domoticz for a while because the player was always in a "Disconnected" status although it was alive from my Logitech Media Server. For that reason I thought I'd try the "Delete Unused Devices" - button and start all over again, and now my player wont show up at all (which I guess is the way it's supposed to work), but is there a way to force it back?

For LMS fans with Alexa, in case you missed it there's a new skill for controlling pretty much everything that LMS can do. The announcement is at

Hi,
I can't sortout the Squeezebox Radio with the LMS and Domoticz version: V4.10717

Connection between LMS and Domoticz works great - I have 6 various devices (Duets, Classic, Touch) - all are visible in devices tab and as a switch on switches tab, but one...
The one absent is Squeezebox Radio (baby).

The only thing I'm receiving an info in log:

Code: Select all

"Error: EventSystem: Could not determine switch type for event device Radio"
I cannot force the Domoticz to show it on Devices tab, but it sees the "baby" for sure - here is the log:

Code: Select all

2019-10-18 16:19:29.950 Logitech Media Server: (Radio) On
2019-10-18 16:19:29.950 Error: EventSystem: Could not determine switch type for event device Radio
2019-10-18 16:19:59.979 Logitech Media Server: (Radio) Playing - 'PR3 98.8'
2019-10-18 16:19:59.980 Error: EventSystem: Could not determine switch type for event device Radio

Hello, seems like after deleting a player from devices, it can’t be added again even if it shows in the logs. Do you have any idea why ? Restarting domoticz doesn’t change anything. I was trying to get my players recognized to something other than lighting and deleted one to see if adding it back would change something but now it’s gone for good :(

Try setup --> hardware and disable LMS, then re-enable. If that does not help, delete and re-add.

Oops, now both players are gone... they still show when i click on setup in the lms hardware and in the logs but not as devices.

Wasn’t there some settings to hide devices after they being deleted to prevent them for showing again ?

Hello all
hope someone will be abe to help me here ;-)

I use the Logitech Media Server with domoticz to play alerts on a squeezebox radio.
I use the "Audio Alerts via Squeezebox Players" option.
It's been working like a charm for months but I'm now moving my LMS from a Syno NAS to a RaspberryPi running Picoreplayer (LMS only)
I'm trying to do the same alerts stuff and it doesn't work anymore... or at least, it works but only partially

Normally the sequence is like following
switch ON in domoticz
domoticz runs the script alert.sh
the script stores the actual playlist running on the radio and the actual volume set on the radio
the script creates a playlist containing prechime and alert
the script sets the volume of the radio to a specific number
the script tells the radio to read the playlist created
the radio plays prechime
the radio plays the alert
the scripts reloads the playlist and volume stored at first step
the script tells the radio to read the playlist restored

It did work with LMS running on Syno

Now that I moved to RaspberryPi the scripts runs only the first steps
This part is working:
the script creates a playlist containing prechime and alert
the script sets the volume of the radio to a specific number
the script tells the radio to read the playlist created
the radio plays prechime
the radio plays the alert
... then nothing

The part that is not working is the restore of playlist and volume
On the radio screen at the end of the alert sound the playlist loaded is empty and the volume stays set to the volume of the alert

Does anyone have a clue on how to debugg this ?

Thanks a lot

Damien

@damdub What is the permissions setting for the playlists folder on the new machine? Needs to be at least 666. I'll bet that's your problem.

Hey,

Is anyone having issues with Domoticz retreiving the track name from a player?

My setup has worked flawlessly for the last 12 months however in the last week or so, Domoticz just reports the track name as '0'.

I can't see any issues in the main or device logs at all.

Code: Select all

Thanks for the reply.

I'm running version 4.10717

I just can't figure this out.

Other LMS devices work fine. It's just this one player that's not playing ball.

Edit:
I removed the hardware and reinstalled. All working correctly now :?

I wonder if logging of played songs/media titles could be disabled for LMS devices (via a configuration checkbox)?

I think there is no need for Domoticz to log such things: they can/are logged on the LMS side if useful.
