Roller Blind Shutter Motor

Post by ccaru »

Hello!,
I have been working with Tubular motors for a while, both wireless and wired, however I've ran into a new challenge: I have this shutter which rolls shut from the bottom UP not top down!

It is currently pulled up by a cable, wound manually hand crank.

I cannot find any motorized version of this. The closest I found are these electric belt drives, but they don't seem to have any simple way to interface with Domoticz.

Does anybody have any experience with this?

...so you have just ONE movement type?
what about a simple sonoff or ESP relay with a simple HTTP command action?

Might have misexplained my issue:

Normal tubular motors can work with a potential free switch (E.g. Intertechno ITL-500) The On/Off signals are interpreted as UP and Down. But for this to work, your motor needs 4 wires : Neutral, Up Signal, Down Signal, earth.

The only cable winder motors I can find have a regular "always on" power cable and integral controls : basically an up and down button on the device itself, which is good enough except i have no idea how to integrate it with Domoticz in this case.

Cable/Strap operated roller shutters are common enough in Europe, but I cannot find any model which can be controlled remotely (except some exceptions where they have their own proprietory remote).

I"d be happy if I could install a tubular motor, but because this particular one lifts itself shut rather than descends, it will not work from a mechanical perspective.
