Ikea Trådfri gateway or Hue gateway?

I am currently using a Xiaomi gateway and some sensors but am planning to buy some trådfri lightpanels and lightbulbs. But what is the best way to control the trådfri-devices through domoticz? Should I buy a philips hue gateway or the trådfri gateway?

Assuming the Xiaomi gateway is a ZigBee gateway as well, there is no real need to buy a second ZigBee gateway. Unfortunately, not each ZigBee gateway works in the same way when it comes to connecting and recognizing devices.

If you don’t have a ZigBee gateway yet and you only have plans for the Ikea lights, the affordable Ikea gateway is fine.

But in the ZigBee world, compatibility is not at the best level as it could/should be. For example Z-Wave has better compatibility and/or is easier to make thing compatible/work. YMMV...

I have read (but not tested) the philips gateway have more feature than the tradfri one.
Ikea and Xiaomi are making a partnership ATM, so if you are lucky perhaps you can have a gateway compatible for both soon.

And if you like challenge, you can try an universal gateway (Zigbeee2mqtt, deCONZ, Zigate, HUSBZB, ETRX357USB, ...) Some of them work for Zigbee+Zwave, but you will have less problem with a philips or ikea Gateway.

I tried the Tradfri lightpanels to connect tot my hue bridge. That works ok. But problem is that the Tradfri remote, after connecting to the Hue bridge is not able to detect the panel. As soon as you try to connect the remote to the panel, the tradfri protocol disconnects the panel and remote from the bridge and starts its own tradfri zigbee connection again. The panel works ok with a philips remote. And the tradfri remote works ok too with a philips bulb. .
