Difference between RFXtrx433E and ICS-2000

Post by gschmidt »

Hi,

What is the difference between the RFXtrx433E and ICS-2000 hardware?

I am just starting with domoticz. Have some mi-lights working in domoticz.
but I also have a few KAKU devices (3x lights, rolling shutter, sunscreen and ventilation system ) in my house which I want to control (with voice).

Greetzzz,

Gerben

See chapter 2.2.2 in the RFXtrx User Guide for the list of supported devices by the RFXtrx433E and RFXtrx433XL.
It supports KAKU, Somfy RTS, Dooya and many others.

Domoticz + RFXtrx is far more then an ICS2000, which is only/mainly used for Kaku devices.
But you can use both to control and recieve devices.

You can use Controlicz together with Domoticz and RFXtrx and have a lot more devices available in Google Home.
I command all my switches, rollershutters and read temperatures etc with this setup.

Yes. Controlicz is a paid service. 20 GBP per year or 2 GBP per month. For which someone is running a server, creating and maintaining software and providing adequate end-user support. :D

True!

It appears that ics-2000 is capable of connecting tradfri IKEA lamps, is this also possible with the rfxtrx433e device?...I ask this because I want to avoid buying multiple hardware.

Please search and read the forum before asking questions.

The RFXtrx433XL operates at 433MHz.
tradfri IKEA is using Zigbee at 2.4GHz and is supported by Domoticz.

Check also if the ICS2000 supports all possibilities of the RFXtrx433XL and Domoticz.
