New Domoticz Events design
There are some very serious problems with this new Events design (4.10095):
1) Can't create new scripts in web gui
2) Can't set language of script
3) Can't set event type, eg: device, time etc...
Despite my own opinion that the previous design was better both functionally and aesthetically, these issues need to be fixed asap, this should never have been committed to git given the current state.
It is effectively unusable.

You use quite strong words here. Especial when considering that the version you make these statements for is in the Beta branch.ben53252642 wrote: ↑Thursday 25 October 2018 2:30 There are some very serious problems with this new Events design (4.10095):

I am using the same version and after refreshing cache and appcache, I can do all the actions you describe in 1), 2) and 3) without any problem.
btw. I use the default theme. So it could be that some theme designers need to adjust something to get it working for their themes.

Firefox with fully cleared browser (note overflow of icons at the bottom)
Safari with fully cleared browser looks almost the same as the first post (and is missing all the features mentioned).
Google Chrome (this time on my laptop), incognito window so obviously fully cleared (missing the features mentioned and looks like this):
I also use the default theme, can someone please post an image of what this should be looking like?

This is the event window, I am using my chrome browser. I am impressed I like the new direction on design and functionality, especially the screen to see all idx listed with the current state and values

I agree with Waaren, this is Beta code. Why did you upgrade anyway?
BTW, this is my (Chrome) screenshot. Looking fine to me

Yes but where is the core functionality, eg setting language or type of script?SweetPants wrote: ↑Thursday 25 October 2018 21:08 I agree with Waaren, this is Beta code. Why did you upgrade anyway?

Not saying this design doesn't have potential, just that right now it appears to be unusable and full of bugs.

Re: New Domoticz Events design (change it back please)
If you select the "+" on the TOP row you can select your script type (Blockly, Python, LUA, dzVentz)ben53252642 wrote: ↑Thursday 25 October 2018 21:11 Yes but where is the core functionality, eg setting language or type of script?
Well if you can write new code without any bugs, please join the development team. You'll be the first one that can. Please bear in mind this is an Open Source project and everybody involved is putting in their own free time in it. Just shouting "these issues need to be fixed asap" is not contributing to the project and signaling to the developers that they did a lousy job and they don't deserve that.ben53252642 wrote: ↑Thursday 25 October 2018 21:11 Not saying this design doesn't have potential, just that right now it appears to be unusable and full of bugs.

@SweetPants : I'm using the old style in version 4.9999. Maybe That's an option?
You can find how to install old style here: http://www.domoticz.com/forum/viewtopic ... 07#p184907

Thank you! I can confirm that this does indeed work.SweetPants wrote: ↑Thursday 25 October 2018 22:35If you select the "+" on the TOP row you can select your script type (Blockly, Python, LUA, dzVentz)ben53252642 wrote: ↑Thursday 25 October 2018 21:11 Yes but where is the core functionality, eg setting language or type of script?
This just leaves the formatting issue on the left.

The sidebar text formatting has been fixed as of 4.10102
This design actually seems pretty good, there is a learning curve though, eg I wouldn't describe it as intuitive.
New users would need to know to press the + button on the tab bar to get started.

Re: New Domoticz Events design
Hi,
I really like the new layout and do not encounter any particular problems. By cons, I did not find how to change the type of a script already created, if I click on the + it creates a new one?

Upgrade, there was a fix already in that area. Because I don't have this in V4.10102

Re: New Domoticz Events design
As I understand, type of script only matters what template will be using when you create a new script and has no effect if you change it after. That's why there is no such ability in new events editor. Please correct me if I'm wrong
Re: New Domoticz Events design
Not exactly an editor issue, but I notice that Blockly "scripts" may be enabled and disabled, and the system does what you expect, but dzvents scripts, once created, are forever active: you can disable them, even delete them, but they keep on working -- even after a restart.StasDemydiuk wrote: ↑Friday 26 October 2018 11:40 BTW Any suggestions for further events editor improvements are welcome
...oh, and thanks for the redesign! Much better than the old interface!

Re: New Domoticz Events design
Did you save (Ctrl-S/Save button) the script when setting it Off? With V4.10102 it works like designed.thelbekk wrote: ↑Friday 26 October 2018 13:00 Not exactly an editor issue, but I notice that Blockly "scripts" may be enabled and disabled, and the system does what you expect, but dzvents scripts, once created, are forever active: you can disable them, even delete them, but they keep on working -- even after a restart.

Re: New Domoticz Events design
This new Events Editor is a great upgrade for the Domoticz interface.
Not noticed any bugs yet, but even if they exist, this is still a very nice improvement.
Thank you very much to the Devs. Your hard work is appreciated.
