OTGW plugin stops functioning every hour or so

Post by mvzut »

Hi,

My OTGW (connected to my Raspberry Pi 3 via a USB-to-serial cable) has worked for a few years with hardly any problems. But since the last half year or so it seems to lose connection VERY often. I have set a data timeout so it reconnects automatically every time, but it is very annoying to see this appear in the error log approximately once every 1-2 hours.

Are more people experiencing this problem? Looking at Github, I don't think the plugin code has really changed for already quite some time. Maybe I should just remove the plugin and add it again to see if that helps, but I'm reluctant to do this since I will lose all my historic data that way.

It just disconnects or are you experiencing wdt resets?

It says "Nothing received for more than x minutes" (depending on how you set the timeout). If I don't set a timeout, the devices stop being updated after a while.

Mmm that I have that as well but in addition I have a WDT reset :*opentherm 4.2.5* message in the log. In the end I have to trigger a hardware reset on the otgw itself to have it back on its feed again.
