Figaro FGMS-001 sensor, temperature does not change

Post by Matzi »

Hi,

I have a problem with the temperature sensor of the Fibaro FGMS-001, it is stuck on 25.2 degrees Celsius.
The other sensors like motion, light and tamper work fine and give updated values in Domoticz.
I hope there is someone who can help me with this issue and can tell me how I can get the temperature sensor working in Domoticz.

This is what I have:
Raspberry PI 3 model B
Debian version 8 (Jessie)
Domoticz version : 4.97
Aeotec Z-stick Gen 5 firmware version 1.4
Fibaro FGMS-001 (don´t know how to check firmware version).

History and problem description:
I had the everything working but then I got an issue with USB ports. I was able to solve this with this article :https://www.domoticz.com/wiki/PersistentUSBDevices
To be clear the temperature value could have been stuck on 25.2 from the beginning. The time I had it working was very short, to short to recognize the stuck temperature at that time.

Because I had reset my Aeotec Z-stick Gen 5 I also had some issues with Including the FGMS-001 again, but I solved this by putting the Aeotec Z-stick Gen 5 in "Removal mode" (not connected to USB port) and the FGMS-001 in removal mode. After that I could include the FGMS-001 again (resetting both devices didn´t work for me).

After I could include the FGMS-001 again it seemed to work fine. Except the temperature stays on 25.2 degrees Celsius all the time. Even if I put it in a heated pit-pillow, the temperature stays on 25.2 degrees Celsius.
The motion sensor and tamper sensor are responding and I also get updated values from the light sensor. Only the temperature sensor seems to be stuck on 25.2 degrees Celsius.

I hope there is someone that can help me with this issue.

This is how I configured the temperature settings of the FGMS-001 in Domoticz:

60. Temperature report - threshold: 5
This parameter determines the change in measured temperature that will result in new temperature report being sent to the main controller. Available settings: 0 - 255 (0.1 - 25.5C; 0 = reports are not sent) Default setting: 10 (1C)

62. Temperature measuring - interval: 60
Time interval between consecutive temperature measurements. The shorter the time, the more frequently the temperature will be measured, but the battery life will shorten. Available settings: 0 - 32767 (1 - 32767 seconds; 0 = temperature is not measured) Default setting: 900 (900 seconds).

64. Temperature report - interval: 60
Time interval between consecutive temperature reports. The reports are sent even if there is no change in the temperature. Available settings: 0 - 32767 (1 - 32767 seconds; 0 = periodical reports are not sent) Default setting: 0

66. Temperature offset: 0
The value to be added to the actual temperature, measured by the sensor (temperature compensation). Available settings: 0 - 100 (0 to 100C) or 64536 - 65535 (-100 to -0.10C) Default setting: 0

It is working now!

This is what I did:
-Removed all the devices of the FGMS-001 from the device list in Domoticz
-Removed the node FGMS-001 from the Aeotec Z-stick in the Hardware
-Reboot the Raspberry PI
-After reboot, check the hardware. The FGMS-001 was in the hardware list, without me inclusing it again (strange!). Also, except for the lux and temperature sensor, all the devices where back in the device list.
-So again, removed devices, removed node and rebooted the Raspberry PI.
-After reboot, the FGMS-001 was gone from the hardware list and also its sensors were not in the device list anymore.
-Included the FGMS-001 again
-Went out and returned in about 3 hours. Logged in again in Domoticz and there they were, all devices including temperature (and working).
