Camera info

Post by corederoma82 »

Hi,
I read many topics but I don't understood if it's possible switch on and switch off the camera with Domoticz.

Thanks

My idea was this.....when I go out from home, camera switch on automatically.
Is it not possible?

Hi,

It depends on what you mean by 'switching the camera on'. You can connect the camera to a domoticz controlled socket so enabling you to turn the camera on/off by switch the power supply. I have a setup in which I switch on the motion detection of a Foscam camera if no-one is at home by making a http call to the camera. That will require some scripting provided your camera allows for it. So the options here will depend on the make and model of your camera.

Cheers!
