Fibaro universal binary input relays activated with proximity switch

Post by BartSr »

Hi !
Anyone who knows if you can activate one of the digital inputs of the fibaro FGBS-001 by using a proximity switch such as e.g. TL-W5MC1?
I understood only ground may be used to activate an input. But as the name says a proximity switch is a switch too...
Any suggestion?
TIA

With a relay it is possible. The Omron TL-W5MC1 is a "switch" but the output it's not a pure switch, but have a transistor stage output that can control a load such a relay, and doing so you can leave the power supplyes separated.

Sorry for late reply.
A relay is not desired as I want to detect the lock of a door with inductive proximity switch.
Or.... I must put a relay in between sensor and fibaro binary zwave .
But that requires to much space inside the door.....
