ArturK wrote: Monday 19 February 2018 12:51 Hi, I just registered in Controlicz as <redacted>.
Add me please to beta testers, now I have error: Controlicz is unable to connect - please check your config. When I linking my Google Assistant there is problem too "check your connection".

- my Domoticz server is accessible via internet (https protocol, public IP and 443 port)
- I have devices in a Room Plan
- I have my user in Domoticz
- I have registered with Controlicz

Is there some tutorial step by step? I think it will be very helpful.

Thanks.
Hi - it seems to be working fine - i can see lots of requests from you for discovery, as well as controls of some devices?
Yes, it started working after some time.

I have done tests and I have observations, which can help.

In my living room i have 2 ceiling lamps named (in domoticz) "living room light 1" and "living room light 2" and one standing lamp controlled by the wall socket named "living room socked 1" (in domoticz as light/switch). So I have 3 lamps in one room. If they are on and I say "turn off living room lamp 1" it works fine. If lamps are off and I say "turn on living room light 1", Google assistant answer is "Sure, setting 3 lights brightness to 1 percent". Then my all 3 lamps are set on.

To solve this problem, I renamed my lamps. Now they are "living room main lamp", "living room fan lamp" and "living room standing lamp".

I think, there is problem with syntax. To turn light to 1 percent, I should say "turn on living room lamp 1 to 1" not "turn on living room lamp 1". Saying "turn on living room lamp 1" I expect activation only one lamp named "living room lamp 1" on previous set level.

The same is in rest of my rooms. Ofcourse, I can named my lamps e.g. "alfa", "beta", "gamma" but it is not intuitive. Is this problem with Controlicz or Google assistant?

Regards, Artur.

This is an issue with Google, and how it's NLP is understanding your request. You can rename them in Domoticz, using the Description field, rather than having to rename the device itself (in the Description field type Controlicz:friendlynamehere )

I think calling your lamps by number isn't great :)

Just a quick post to say I got it working, it wasn't very intuitive how you add Controlicz to Google home. That's not your fault at all but it might be helpful if you explain how to do that part of it better on your FAQ.

Hi also struggling

I have some problems with using controlicz. I use domoticz software on my Raspberry pi and want to connect it with a google home smart speaker.
I followed the instructions on the controllicz website. 1. I made an account. 2. I have established a https: connection with my domoticz server. 3.I can connect with a browser.

In domoticz I made a user and a roomplan with some controllers. All set to go but when I use the test button in controllicz website it won't work.
I suppose the login and password you have to use in controllicz is that of the new user in domoticz (not the login and password for domoticz itself)

The message I receive is: Controlicz is unable to connect - please check your config

Also in the google home app (android) when i want to add a device I choose controllicz and in the pop up menu the login and password here are not correct (I suppose this is the controllicz loging credentials?)

What am I doing wrong?

Thank you in advance

Hi - just had a look - you've found a bug :)
Can you remove the '/' from your hostname, and it should work. Will add it to my list :)

Hi!

Shouldnt controlicz be a "part" of mydomoticz? Or mydomoticz a part of controlicz. Openhab now has "official" support for google assistant thru their "cloud" myOpenhab.org and that seems cleaner than having two logins like it is now in domoticz.

Just my two cents.

Domoticz architecture is different. But yes, I agree, the best solution would be a centralised 'cloud', but that also goes against what alot of people want from Domoticz

I am not completely sure if it's still the right approach, but I just registered on the website.
E-mail address starts with the same characters as my username here.

hi - you don't need to do anything more now than add Controlicz in your Google Home app

Thanks for the quick reply, but I can't login.
Maybe I did it wrong.

In the fields while signing up, I did the following:
- 1) My Google account e-mail addres
- 2) Password (not my Google password)
- 3) My Domoticz url
- 4) My Domoticz port
- 5) User created in Domoticz
- 6) Password of user in Domoticz

Is that correct?

When I now add Controlicz in the Google Home app, it does not work, it keeps asking for username/password, like I am using the wrong one..

Just created another account to check if I was using incorrect passwords (I had used randomly generated 16 character passwords, so I typo was easily made)

- I also can not connect my new account
- I can not log in on the Controlicz website with both my new and old account
- The "Forgotten your password?" page asks for the password, which is rather strange..

Hi - no idea how i managed to add in the password field - it's removed now, so should be working again!
Will take a closer look at your setup, see what's up - I can't see an email starting with your username on here?

I have sent a DM with some more info, but it stays in outbox, so I'm not sure if you've received it.

Hi Madgeni,

Also tried to register & login today. Registration has sent a confirmation, afterwards I could access profile page. If I try to logon now, nothing happens, also if I try to add controlicz service in Google Home, it keeps asking for my login...
