On/off thermostate script in Lua or Dzvents?

My chronotherm is going out the door and the temperature in our house will be controlled by domoticz. Coming months I will be building the software and hardware for my on/off boiler.
If someone has tips or links: please post them. I am looking for PI or PID programs/examples. Found some simple on/off threshold based scripts on the web, but I guess they will cause overshoot.

Another challenge will be to build some clean,flexible time table code, to replace the daily programs in my current thermostate.

dzVents is Lua but with a data model helping you to interact with everything that comes from Domoticz. But all the code you write is pure 100% Lua.
