[Choise for domoticz:] I got a Pi from a friend and I wondered what to do with it. It was always a dream of me to implement Domotica into my house and this was the perfect software/hardware to do it.
[My role here?] I'm a bit of a newbie when it comes to domotica. I want to learn and share my experience on this forum.
[My equipment] currently owned: Rasb Pi, RFX433mhz, nefit easy. Orderd and has to arrive: 4 cheap chinese door sensors, 4 Cresta TX320.

I saw allot of ideas allready on this forum and I am going to implement some of them. I will let it know in the right post if I'm going to try that solution.
Many thanks to everyone who allready found some sollutions on question I allready had before I started this project.
RPI 3b+, PiFace 2, RFcom, Aeon Zwave USB, Aeon Home Energy Meter Gen 5, several Shelly switches, several ESP8266 sensors.

Hi I'm Iwan. Just started home automation.
I bought the RFXCOM433 USB tranceiver and several KLIKAANKLIKUIT stuff (yes I'm from the Netherlands). I am running Domoticz on a windows machine now. Most likely it will move to my linux home server in a while. When I have basic functionality up and running the ambition is to integrate my arduino projects into home automation.

I will need help from you all but after a while I can help other newbies :-)

[Choise for domoticz:]
An easy starting point for domotics (actually I was referred to Domoticz by http://www.weerhuisje.nl whenI bought a RFXCOM RFXtrx433 to toy with Oregon Scientific sensors).
[My role here?] 1) Learn how to use Domoticz (so I may be able to help others), 2) learn more about the raspberry and linux, 3) perhaps learn some scripting (I suck at that), 4) maybe help out with translations
[My equipment] a Raspberry PI (but I'll start using Domoticz on my Windows 7 laptop), an RFXCOM RFXtrx433 USB transciever, some Oregon Scientific weather sensors, a Voltcraft C0-20 USB stick, some old Synologies (no really old ones), and even older pc's / hardware (basically scrap)
Domoticz V 3.5877 on Raspberry Pi B (wheezy)
RFXtrx433 USB, FW 1015 - type 1
Various Oregon Scientific sensors & 2 Fritz!DECT 200 switches

[Choise for domoticz:] I found the synology package which gave me the idea of connecting switches and power plugs at home.
[My role here?] I get support to make thinks work together, first. Then, eventually help people. Finally, I can provide some scripting later.
[My equipment] I own a z-wave.me USB z-stick and a Fibaro FGS-221. I'd like to control everything from my NAS but could also use my raspberry.

[Choise for domoticz:]
I have looked firstly at domotica possibilities, mainly what we could do and how (protocols, existing modules, ...), focusing on security, reliability and easiness.
Then, I have focused on domotica solutions compatible with this protocol with these criterias:
1/ Open Source
2/ cloud independant
3/ running on low power system, RaspBerry Pi
4/ compatible with Z-Wave
5/ using GNU/Linux, and mainly a flavor closed to Debian I am confident with
So, I have been easy to go to Domoticz
[My role here?] At that point, I am just discovering the domotica world. Firstly, raising ticket for issue I would encounter. Secondly, proposing enhancements I would think of.

I have bought firstly a Vera Lite, but the interface and usage is not that easy and I didn't progress much. I don't want to spend days to make something working!
[My role here?] First get momre knowledge using domotica and Domoticz, then collaboratively help to enhance this promisely platform to the highest level, always for free!
