I'm experiencing issues with Domoticz - MyDomoAtHome - Imperihome integration. I was advised to do a clean install of Domoticz. Since I have A LOT running on Domoticz, I'm quite reluctant to do a backup and restore, but am willing to give it a try if it means I can keep using Imperihome on my wall tablet.
So asking for your experiences: is it safe to do a backup/restore? Anything that is not restored (e.g. scripts, I assume I have to put these back separately)? Any issues with assignment of new device ID's or anything?
Any feedback appreciated.

Re: Backup and restore - implications
Hi,
Some thoughts....
I see you are running Domoticz on your synology ?
I not sure how, but must be possible too.
I have RaspberryPi , I shutdown my system, make an image of the SDcard and store it somewhere save.
Start messing around with the config. . if something breaks.. easy and yes, I will loose by database entries of the time I am testing but that is all.
Could such be possible running on a Sygnology?
Long time ago I did a db restore and it worked perfectly
Be aware any .sh perl python scripts are NOT stored in the DB.
If you use the lua interface on Domoticz it is stored in the DB , as far as I know, But some Lua can also be stored on the drive itself..
Hope this does help you a little...

Re: Backup and restore - implications
Good point I did not mention indeed: I'm on Synology. This means I remove the package (comparable with an app on your phone) and reinstall it and then do a db restore. That's it, no image or SD cards.
I can place lua scripts etc back in thr right places, no problem, mainly need to know if my hardware, devices, scenes etc come back exactly the same as they were...
