Re: my water meter.
Thanks. This looks good.
In this article number: 82649264 ?
(P.S, the red wire goes to Output pin 7 instead of 5V on the PiFace in your schematic)

Hi remb0 ! Can you pleade detail that piece of hardware that you connect to your piface (brand, référence, supplier cost...).
I have the same king of water meter but i do not want to invest into the official pulse module (itron cyble V2) because it cost more than 50€.
So any detail or idea is welcome.
Regards
[edit] ok, iprototype.nl - didn't see that. But how do you fix it to the water meter ? Is it in front of the metal wheel ? [/edit]

Try this one: http://r.ebay.com/Ox4XvE I just ordered a couple.bistoury wrote:Hi remb0 ! Can you pleade detail that piece of hardware that you connect to your piface (brand, référence, supplier cost...).
Analog and Digital output. $1.75 = € 1,27 including shipping.
Re: my water meter.
I have also find this :
http://gobotics.com/index.php?route=pro ... duct_id=80
Remb0 : if i ordre your module, what else do i need (apart from a ip and a piface) ?
Does it work the same than the previous one ? Is it the same electrical schematic ?
On the module i have found (gobotics), i understand that it is in fact an IR sensor. Is it the case ?
I ma not sûre to understand everything here...

Re: my water meter.
Yes these TCRT5000 sensors work very well (glued on my powermeter and also gasmeter).Ritmeester wrote:Try this one: http://r.ebay.com/Ox4XvE I just ordered a couple.bistoury wrote:Hi remb0 ! But i bought some other type for my watermeter. (The one that is mentioned here =>http://www.domoticz.com/wiki/PiFace)
Cause i doubt this TCRT5000 sensor will work foolproof for long time when it is in a humid area under the floor where my watermeter is.

Try to find another seller. There are more sellers who sell this and ship to France.bistoury wrote:Hummmm.... Now ebay is bloc king me due to country restrictions (i am inFrance)

Re: my water meter.
Ok i understand that nothing has to be soldered. Good point. Now second one : how do you fix it to the water meter ? And 3rd one : is the electrical schematic the same the above ?

I will use Heatshrink (Krimpkous) to safe it. Only the LED’s notRaspberry Piet wrote: Cause i doubt this TCRT5000 sensor will work foolproof for long time when it is in a humid area under the floor where my watermeter is.

Re: my water meter.
Still then... when the glass is moist the IR light will dissipate and the sensor couldn't work properly <= Did not test this so maybe just in theory.Ritmeester wrote:I will use Heatshrink (Krimpkous) to safe it. Yes, It can work because on your 8 outputs are normally 3.9 Volt between the Input Block (0V-GND) and de Output Block (5V) You can’t use that Output port anymore for something else. I rather choose for the 5V on the Output Block.remb0 wrote:don't know why but I have this als my schema. but it works.

my water meter.
Bought this sensor from Ebay: http://bit.ly/RawnMy
It's working but it is hard to position it to work right.
How/where did you guys mount the sensor?
I'll post a picture of my mounted sensor later tomorrow.
Edit: pictures
I've edited the database to match the real watermeter usage. So in a couple of days I can see how reliable the sensor is. To be continued...

Re: my water meter.
@bizziebis
I use a large hose clamp to fix my sensor (but my solution senses the half moon with lowcost proximity sensor: proved to be very reliable). But my fixing method could also be used to put your type of sensor at an angle. See pictures and more details in wiki http://www.domoticz.com/wiki/PiFace paragraph "Water Meter Sensor".
