RFXCOM : Error opening serial port!

I am running Domoticz on a Windows 2012R2 (HP N40L) with a RFXCOM. Works perfect but after a couple of day (could 1 or 2) i get the following error

2017-06-17 18:01:46.208 Error: RFXCOM: Error opening serial port!
2017-06-17 18:01:47.223 RFXCOM: retrying in 30 seconds...

And this continues for ever.

The solution for this is stop the domoticz service, disconnect and connect the RFXCOM start domoticz again. After this everything is fine again (for a couple of days after the which the error returns)...

Any idea what is causing this.

What i also did when I get the error was stop domoticz and start RFXmgr to see if that application was abel to connect (also no luck).

The error appears when the system cannot connect with the RFXCOM transceiver over the comm port. Maybe you should check Windows' Eventlog, maybe it's a driver issue. I run Domoticz on a virtual Windows 2012R2 and it is pretty stable. But I have 3 RFXCOM transceivers connected over ethernet (using VirtualHere). The only issue is whenever an ip connection is lost with one of the transceivers, Domoticz crashes.

Eventlog doesn't show any problem related to the com port. Also when the issue occurs the device com3 (where the Rfxcom is located) is still displayed in the device manager. I now moved it from an USB2 port (motherboard connected) to a USB3 port (located on a PCI-E card).

Next step is to update the driver still running 2.12 .24, just found that 2.12.26 released..

Moving Rfxcom to another USB port did the trick. It has been running without problems the last 4 days. Very happy
