SolarEdge in Latest Beta / Port Number
Excited to see that the SolarEdge PV inverter is now mentioned in the latest release notes 1.1530 and it is now possible to add a Hardware Device "SolarEdge via LAN Interface (working NOT READY!)", great keep up the super work. I will try to wait patiently until the Not Ready turns to Ready in a later beta.
In the meantime, what will I specify for the Ethernet port, ip address is easy but I don't know which port to connect to? The only one I see mentioned in the SolarEdge literature is 22222 which is to talk to their servers. Thanks.

SolarEdge in Latest Beta / Port Number
Did not expect to see another SE user here so quick . We are working on this for some time. There is already a lot solved and found, but it takes some more effort to complete.
If i have some spare time these days i will make a start with a wiki on this.

Re: SolarEdge in Latest Beta / Port Number
Antwan - great thanks, I see "SolarEdge via LAN interface" no longer says "not ready" in version 1.1623 - any hints as to how I can connect my inverter?
Thanks, Simon

Re: SolarEdge in Latest Beta / Port Number
Change in your inverter the url from:
prod.solaredge.com
to the ip addres of your domoticz server.
In Domoticz put at remote address:
Remote Address: prod.solaredge.com
Port: 22222
For me this is a intermediate solution. In the end I want to connect to the rs232 or usb port on the inverter and leave the ip part on the inverter like it was.
The advantage of this is that the data is coming in every 0,5 sec (the same intervall as on the display).
We still have to integrate the optimisers in Domoticz.

Re: SolarEdge in Latest Beta / Port Number
I also have a SolarEdge inverter (SE3000). I'm very, very interested in a solution for viewing my inverter data without using the SE Monitoring Portal.
Last year I've sniffed data communication between the inverter and SE, but I was unable find 'human readable' data. So I was very surprised Domoticz has a solution for that !
I also have a RS485-to-USB converter, but no software to use or test that.
If I can test something, please let me know. I've a RaspBerry Pi (model B 256MB)

There is still some work to do, but the next months we have no time for this.

Re: SolarEdge in Latest Beta / Port Number
I understand implementing this is a big job. So I'm very grateful for that!
I'll patiently wait for improvements. If I can help with testing, let me know.
Where can I post remarks/bugs? Have I to use the Bugs/Problems forum?

Re: SolarEdge in Latest Beta / Port Number
If possible I like to blow new air in this conversation.
Is there in the meantime any progress made on implementing SolarEdge directly and fully (optimizers included) in Domoticz? Would be very nice. Tried to get it working through LAN but no result yet. Also the Domoticz manual still is pretty unclear about it.
Do own a SolarEdge SE5000 system. Further-on 2 RasPi's both with Domoticz on it (one production system with stable version, one test system with latest release). SE5000 USB and RS485 (Sunspec) not tried with Domoticz yet (USB works well with the SolarEdge config tool under Win8).
As engineer I'm willing to spend some time on solid SolarEdge implementation in Domoticz. More people interested?

Re: SolarEdge in Latest Beta / Port Number
i have to ask this to the one i implemented it for, but his internet is down at the moment....
i can explain how he/we got it working
there is a configuration tool for your solar edge, when you use it, you can logon and see the IP address where it transmits its data to (the solaredge website)
copy this ip address/port (make a note, it should have port 22222?)
in domoticz add the solaredge hardware, and enter the above ip address and port
in the solaredge, let it connect to the domoticz system (domoticz ip address, and port 22222)
now you should be set

Re: SolarEdge in Latest Beta / Port Number
Thanks for your quick reply. Used the SolarEdge config tool multiple times, so pretty well known with it in the meantime. Also found the SolarEdge IP and port info in my router logging, so that's available anyhow. Standard SolarEdge logging currently is stable and working as expected.
As a test I did change the SolarEdge config to output data to my RasPi IP some time ago. Result on the SolarEdge display was a "non-connect" message. Actually I did not setup the right things in Domoticz at that same time. Hope the combo of the 2 will do the trick. As long as Domoticz is supporting it, is there any limitation on minimum version of Domoticz to use?
Big benefit of this solution is no need to setup USB/RS485 connection between SolarEdge and RasPi/Domoticz.
Please give some days to setup and test it on my test system. Will come back on it soon.

no worries... let me know how you go... if it's working maybe we should make a wiki about it.

Re: SolarEdge in Latest Beta / Port Number
@Hans, after I changed the IP address on my SE3000 converter, it took some time (1 or 2 minutes if I remember correctly) after the 'not connected' issue was solved. Did you give it enough time to re-establish the connection?

Re: SolarEdge in Latest Beta / Port Number
OK, functioning now on my test system. No error messages on SE5000 or in Domoticz. SolarEdge site logging info as normal so Domoticz forward also is working fine. Will monitor this for the coming days so we collect some info.
In regards to a Wiki or Domoticz manual modification for the SE add-on:
Personally I'm an EE (electrical engineer) in the IT branch. Domoticz SE setup and config is easy and straight forward. Correctly and save configuring the SE invertor will be a kind of different story for many people. For the newer SE invertors, in any case you have to open the main cover (SE config tool through USB and also for switch configuration like written in the manual) to re-configure. This directly will expose people to the invertor high voltage/power area's. Maybe a safety point to keep in mind.

Re: SolarEdge in Latest Beta / Port Number
In the meantime my SolarEdge – Domoticz setup is running on my test system now stable and reliable for more than 2 weeks. Also the SolarEdge site is updated as expected. Additional, the Master-Slave setup between the 2 Domoticz systems is working stable for the SolarEdge information.
SolarEdge update frequency every 5 minutes. Grid frequency still shows % sign, so there is a small improvement possible in Domoticz. To work safely on the invertor (USB connector is inside housing), it absolutely is required to follow the SolarEdge manuals carefully
Domoticz SolarEdge logging currently is limited to AC Power + Energy, AC grid voltage, DC string voltage, grid frequency and invertor temperature. Some further extension of this logging options could be a very nice future add-on in my opinion (e.g. on optimizer level).

Re: SolarEdge in Latest Beta / Port Number
@Hans, I've also configured Domoticz logging by configuring my inverter to send data to my Raspberry with Domoticz instead if prod.solaredge.com. The amount of kWh is incorrect (almost 0, sometimes a very huge number e.g. 1258461172.957 kWh).
Did you connect the inverter physically to your Domoticz-server?

Re: SolarEdge in Latest Beta / Port Number
@asg, not seen that till now at all. Do parallel power/energy measurement of my SolarEdge system through DIN rail KWh meter with Youless. Timing between the 2 measurement systems is completely different (5 min versus 10 sec interval). During power generation this does give differences in read-out as you can imagine. After sunset the produced energy equals within 1% for that day in my case.

Sorry did forget to answer your question on direct connect. At this moment connection still is through wired LAN. Hope in the near future we will get options in Domoticz to connect through RS485 or USB.

Logging now with SE2200 SolarEdge for several days. Working very good. Allso forwarding to SolarEdge site. Figures no strange values. Thanks guys for this beautifull piece of logging.

Re: SolarEdge in Latest Beta / Port Number
Is it possible to dump all (raw) tcp packets from domoticz or from Linux (running on a raspberry) in a file? If yes, how can I sniff that data?
I'll log all data from my SolarEdge to analyze data.
I'm a noob on Linux....

Re: SolarEdge in Latest Beta / Port Number
If you are a noob on linux, and you seem not able to compile domoticz under windows... Than i really doubt what you can possibly do with the raw data as this class can easily be extended for logging to disk or be used in a standalone application
