I've two gateways, but I can't see or use the second one :(
Is there any way to get this done? With the additional functions it would be sweat to use two gateway.
Ditto - I purchased a second gateway so that I could use one as a hallway light.

When I added the second gateway in MiHome it seems to appear in Domoticz devices even though I haven't added another hardware unit for the IP of the new gateway.
However, controlling it does not work, as it says the key is incorrect (since it tries to use the key for the first gateway).

So, I've added another hardware unit in Domoticz, using the key and IP of the second gateway - the log no longer complains about incorrect key, but neither gateway responds... any way to make this work?

There is no way to get 2 gateway on the same Domoticz session, you need to have 2 domoticz

Thanks deennoo.

Any ideas if this is a future planned feature, once the current functions are stable?

Hi Deennoo

WellI can think off some nice features to have 2 gateways -
1 in the hall and 1 upstairs for instance.
You could use them to ring a bell when someone is at the front door.
You could use them for light the hall during night when someone wake-ups
You could use them to give alarm at several places in the house in case of emergency and because you probably can't hear just a single one

So I can think of a few examples where it will be useful. I also would like to have 2 or 3 of these gateways for the above examples.
Best regards Bert

Ok, for night light, you can use milight or yeelight bulb who was cheaper than buy a getaway, but doesn't play sound for sure.

about sound : i live in a 2 stairs house, of 170m² and got only one gateway, just place it at the good place and for sure, i can hear it anywhere in home, just need to choose the good sound and the good level, even if i play my own recorded voice, it works very great. My only issue is the wall plug who sometime isn't trigger, because far from the gateway and behind to much bad rf conductor thing, but that not a real problème because i remove it : plug doesn't fit to european standars, need adapter, i prefer using neocool cam zwave plug

Make sure you have new hardware enabled in the Domoticz settings (think it took some time before it was available) and consider a restart of Domoticz.
I did a restart and have had enabled new hardware all the evening and night over. Still no result.
I also checked for the firmware, at this moment it is on 1.4.1_145.0141

Does anyone has another suggestion / solution?
I had the same problem. After I enabled the "automatic gateway light" scene in the mi home app on my phone the lux sensor appeared in Domoticz. Maybe you can give it a try.
Thanks Mooseknuckle, that did the trick in my situation also. Seems that you have to use the function on the Xiaomi and that it then appears in Domoticz.
Nevertheless, thanks for your help and advise.

From another forum and blog, here is an interessente article (in french) : http://faire-ca-soi-meme.fr/hack/2017/0 ... e-de-clef/

This guys crack xiaomi protocol and discover that a zigbee Home Automation protocole, who use a key, and he found a way to crack it.

His next step is to provid a serial gateway who will be able to work with Home automation zigbee device and Light Zigbee device (Philips Hue), final goal is to be :
- cloud free
- without any device number limit
- improve gateway range by made 2 version a normal one and a long range one (+ 3db)

This can be our solution

Interesting find :)

As for why 2 gateways - some of it has been covered already, but for my situation another gateway was better than bulbs etc..
I have my original gateway by my front door (sounds for alarm activation, door bell etc.).

The plan was for the second gateway in my upstairs hallway - I cannot use 'smart bulbs' since my light fitting does not accept the size of these, also I cannot use smart plug with a lamp, since there is nowhere to place the lamp.
Gateway would have been perfect, since it has built in light which is bright enough to illuminate hallway/bathroom for my children at night, plus i could make use of the build in lux sensor (plus additional motion sensor) to only turn on the light when movement detected and light condition is dark.

Hopefully there will be a way in the future to make use of more than one gateway, I'm sure I'm not the only one who has uses for this :D

If multiple gateway support comes, it won't be until after the current gateway functionality is included in the stable Domoticz release.

As of now, you have the option to run a Domoticz server for each gateway, or like me use the Mi Home app for some functionality.

Thanks Corbin, I'll investigate running a slave Domoticz for the time being.

However, I noticed that now I have the 'lan' functionality enabled on both, that nothing works even if I just add my original gateway (which also detects the new one in domoticz devices).
Do I have to run the separate Domoticz server / Gateway on an entirely different subnet for this kind of setup to work?

Anyone else having this problem with the door/window sensors where not all events are logged in domoticz?
See for the following example:
This is wat the log says:

Code: Select all

2017-04-27 17:01:59.654 {"cmd":"report","model":"magnet","sid":"158d000153b101","short_id":15800,"data":"{\"status\":\"open\"}"}
2017-04-27 17:02:04.566 {"cmd":"heartbeat","model":"magnet","sid":"158d000153b101","short_id":15800,"data":"{\"voltage\":3005,\"status\":\"close\"}"}
2017-04-27 17:10:06.978 {"cmd":"report","model":"magnet","sid":"158d000153b101","short_id":15800,"data":"{\"status\":\"open\"}"}
2017-04-27 17:10:16.810 {"cmd":"report","model":"magnet","sid":"158d000153b101","short_id":15800,"data":"{\"status\":\"close\"}"}
However, this is the log of the sensor in domoticz:

Code: Select all

2017-04-27 17:10:16	Off
2017-04-27 17:01:59	On
2017-04-27 16:28:49	Off
It appears that domoticz did not recognize the second line in the log and after that it ignored the subsequent 'open' message.
The mi home app does detect all the states as it should be.

I tried to read through all of the post, but could not seem to find a similar issue. I hope I did not overlook it.

All the best & thank you very much for the fine coding work to get the gateway integrated in Domotcz!!

@Swifty
Having a 2nd gateway on the same subnet shouldn't stop the original from working but I don't have a 2nd gateway to test this. Ensure the password/IP address hasn't changed on the gateway.

Yes the 2nd Domoticz server and gateway needs to be on a separate subnet to your original setup.

@Phoenix
The decision was made to ignore all heartbeat messages, as they sometimes report incorrect state. It is a known issue which hasn't been fixed as yet https://github.com/louisZL/lumi-gateway ... /issues/11

I've t2o gateways and my experiences so far are:
- I see all Gateway-functions
- I get readings from both lightsensors
BUT
- As soon as the second gateway is connected, I can't control any device connected to any of both gateways.
So getting data works fine for two gateways, but you can't control andy device anymore!

Xiaomi released smoke detector, article says it uses the Zigbee protocol (I am assuming to the Gateway?).

Gearbest is taking pre-orders:

I've pre-ordered the smoke detector.
