Use second RPI as kind of repeater possible ??

Post by zicht »

Hi All,

I have one RPI with domoticz, works great !
But a couple of receivers (KAKU) are just out off range (garden) and receive only 40% of the time the switch command.
As i have a second RPI with domoticz running, i was wondering if i can use this one as some kind of repeater for the main RPI ?

I configured the main one as master and second one as slave.
I see the sensors and switches of the main in the slave appearing.
Great, but i do not see the RF command comming from the slave one.
Any one here allready tried to solve a similar situation ?
Bigger antenna is not possible due to lack of space.

Relocating the main RPI allready tried, but i cannot cover all KAKU, so i need some kind of signal repeater somewhere.
Any suggestion is welcome !

Thanks...
Rpi & Win x64. Using : cam's,RFXCom, LaCrosse, RFY, HuE, google, standard Lua, Tasker, Waze traveltime, NLAlert&grip2+,curtains, vacuum, audioreceiver, smart-heating&cooling + many more (= automate all repetitive simple tasks)

I suppose you will need another rf hardware for the slave either...

You can share devices between servers, but hardware is related to the specific server....
it means that if you have a RF switch configured on the slave and replicated to the master domoticz, if you press it... the slave sends the command, not the master ;)
The most dangerous phrase in any language is:
"We always done this way"
