Update RFXtrx433Ext firmware

Hi!
Just noticed that there is a new FW for the RFX.
Downloaded the latest FW and see a lot of HEX files inside the zip archive.

Code: Select all

RFXtrx433_Ext_251.hex
RFXtrx433_Ext_1001.hex

and last one is: 
RFXtrx433_Ext_1012.hex.

Which one sould I use?
Domoticz report that my FW is:
RFXCOM - RFXtrx433 USB 433.92MHz Transceiver
Version: 249

Is the 251.hex proper one or is it 1012.hex the one I should use?

Update firmware only if there is a need for.
Check the firmware history file which is in the firmware zip files or http://blog.rfxcom.com/

As I can see, the 3 digit FW version is abandoned with FW release 433_1001 18-02-2016
And from 1001 and on its 4 digits. ..

I have one of these as well. What is the difference between an Ext and Ext2 model ? Mine is marked as a batch 1016 I think......

My question is however how do you know what hardware type you have..... i mean mine is three months old but it says nothing on it to make it clear.
