Hy,
Is there a possibility to make my phone ring instead of receiving a notification, when fe my alarm is triggered? Not sure if this belongs to scripting.
Kind regards.

If you have an iPhone you can (ab)use the Findmyiphone interface from apple.

Nice, maybe this can be build into a notification system for domoticz ?Clemen wrote:I am using https://www.nexmo.com/ you can call a phone number with text to speech.

As far as I can oversee you will get calls from nexmo with sender "unknown number".Clemen wrote:I am using https://www.nexmo.com/ you can call a phone number with text to speech.

I find this rather unpractical (general behavior of ignoring number unknown and also do not disturb will not pass through these calls) for alarm and urgent matters.
Their solution is buy a number at nexmo?
Personally I like the (ab)use of findmyiphone of Egregius better.
Maybe (one day) the wiki can be optimized so LUA and Blocky-users can easily start to use it (or maybe even standard notification in Domoticz). Especially if you want to use only the part for messaging (of his broad contributions).

Believe me that the findmyiphone message will be heared
Do not disturb, switch to silent, no mather what the sound is there and it doesn't stop. Don't know how long it will be beeping...
You can try that easily on icloud.com and go to findmyiphone. Sent a message to yourself.

Correct you need to buy a number to get a caller id.
But you can easy code you calling function to try diffenrent numbers, if the first phone dossent answer then call the next etc.
You can also with the api specifi that you want to place a voice mail message if the phone is unable.

Re: script for phone ringing instead of notification
I have an Android phone with the Autoremote app. I can send any message to my phone.. And with the 'voice notify' app all notifications are spoken.. With Tasker you can even answer to questions.. Like: 'Hans, the garagedoor is still open, do you want me to close it?' A spoken 'yes' or 'no' triggers a switch in Domoticz... The sky is the limit...
Cheers, Hans

Re: script for phone ringing instead of notification
Many internet providers use SIP on the home phone side and allow using it also from a computer so you can use your phone account worldwide as if you were at home... So it may only be a matter of sip & espeak to allow fixed home phone domoticz voice notification to a mobile/other phone to remain free of another third party, even if some custom scripting on the sip link setup side will still be needed as almost every operator have his own way to do so.gizmocuz wrote:Nice, maybe this can be build into a notification system for domoticz ?Clemen wrote:I am using https://www.nexmo.com/ you can call a phone number with text to speech.
