which weather station for solar radiation to get

Post by mongoose »

Hi,

In New Zealand I can't get solar radiation nor UV on weather underground. I can get predicted however at http://solarview.niwa.co.nz/ (if anyone is interested)
But so thought about buying a weather station that does solar radiation, google came up with this one http://www.amazon.co.uk/Weather-Station ... B00C9MFQ1A (also available here) but would it work with rfxcom? does anyone else have a weather station from AERCUS Instruments. as would be cool if it uses the same protocols as La Crosse or Oregon scientific etc...

cheers

Difficult to understand what the Forecast-values are.
If you compare with calculation results of http://re.jrc.ec.europa.eu/pvgis/apps4/pvest.php# for Monthly Radiation or Daily Radiation no resemblance can be seen .....
Set1 = RPI-Zero+RFXCom433+S0PCM+Shield for BMP180/DS18B20/RS485+DDS238-1ZNs
Set2 = RPI-3A++RFLinkGTW+ESP8266s+PWS_WS7000
Common = KAKUs+3*PVLogger+PWS_TFA_Nexus
plus series of 'satellites' for dedicated interfacing, monitoring & control.

Perhaps this thread in this forum is an interesting entry to getting rough-order-of-magnitude info on local solar radiation, somewhat compensated for actual weather: http://www.domoticz.com/forum/viewtopic ... 23&t=10077
Question for you is which station in your vicinity provides a practical Octa-value
Set1 = RPI-Zero+RFXCom433+S0PCM+Shield for BMP180/DS18B20/RS485+DDS238-1ZNs
Set2 = RPI-3A++RFLinkGTW+ESP8266s+PWS_WS7000
Common = KAKUs+3*PVLogger+PWS_TFA_Nexus
plus series of 'satellites' for dedicated interfacing, monitoring & control.
