App doesn't connect to server - newbie issue?

Post by Grappa »

Hi

am new on Domoticz (looking for a better solution than my current HomeWizard) and want to test the Android App (lite).

I have created a simple server setup on my Windows10 PC (want to move to Rasberry PI later) and do see my sensors and switches ok. However when I try to connect from App I do get the message:

Timeout or no connection
com.android.volley. TimeoutError

Please correct the data on the previous page

server address: ip-address of PC; Port 6144; Username & PW as created under Setup - More Options - Edit Users

In the logfile I do see: 2016-10-30 17:39:13.955 Incoming Domoticz connection from: 192.168.178.113 (which is the Android phone running the app)
Tried other android devices: same message.

Probably something stupid that I just failed to see... Who can help?

THANKS

I tried imperihome: same result
I tried via 4G (and portforwarding): same result
I tried different devices: 3 different Windows devices (W10/W7), Synology and Raspberry Pi: same result
I tried 3 different Androids with the APP and an Iphone: same result

Domoticz server DOES see the connection comming in (2016-11-07 21:28:52.001 Incoming Domoticz connection from: 192.168.178.136) but the app times out.
If I enter a different portnr in the app I immediately get an error message. So the app does somehow communicate with the server.

Any ideas?

Hi,

Just hijacking the post a bit. I'm setting Imperihome too and it works fine on LAN but when trying to access remotely (with port forwarding and basic login auth) it doesn't work.

I can see on the logs (accessing remotely) that Imperihome is trying to log in but gets refused:

Code: Select all

2016-11-22 12:54:39.968 Error: [web:8084] Failed authentication attempt, ignoring client request (remote address: 127.0.0.1)
I'm accessing remotely from my mobile phone 3G

The paremeter I'm using for remote access is a DNS:3002 and then user and password. Am I missing anything else?

SPEC: Running Domoticz 3.5877 on Synology 116

Figured out what the issue is. I had to white list an IP under settings: 127.0.0.1 for Imperihome to work with a port forwarding. :)
