RFXTrx433e & Energenie 13A Socket pairing.

Post by Westcott »

I just got an individual Energenie socket to try.
Plugged it into the wall, and the On/Off light started dutifully flashing.
First I tried to pair it by creating a 'Manual light/switch' in Domoticz on the RPi -
Switch type 'On/off', Type 'Energenie', House code 'A', Unit '1',
but the Test button had no effect.
Then I took the RFXtrx over to my PC, and ran RFXmngr to transmit a -
Lighting 1, 'Energenie', House code 'A', Unit '1', and it paired immediately.
Sending On and Off respond perfectly.
So, back to Domoticz, tested the switch again, no response.

Any idea how to get it to respond to Domoticz commands?

Which specific model socket? There are two types... Green button, and purple button.

Will check how mine are setup once I'm home - am using same ones with same transceiver.

(Tip: if UK, buy these - http://www.maplin.co.uk/p/remote-contro ... pack-n38hn - far cheaper & work fine. I made mistake of buying energenie when I started out and realised they were way overpriced...)

I take it you have other non-energenie devices working fine?

Thanks Marci.
Perhaps you added the remote's buttons as devices, and switch using them?

Manually add them to Domoticz as COCO GDR2 switches, instead of Energenie protocol switches. They learn & operate perfectly. (Same protocol as the Maplin ones I linked to above too...). Just put sockets into learn mode one at a time, and then hit the on/off switch for COCO GDR2 A1, A2, A3, A4 etc - maximum of 16 devices.

Hi Marci

Sorry to dig up an old thread but I've just got a RFXtrx433e and already had some Energenie devices so wanted to pair them to Domoticz. The plugs in question are the MIHO005 variety (white slightly rounded socket, white button and purple writing) but I cannot get them to pair.

I've enabled all protocols on the RFXtrx433e (not knowing which was applicable to the Energenie sockets as nothing like GDR2 is available in the modes list for the transceiver) and added a manual switch but the socket will not pair. Am I right that when creating the switch, I need to select the entry that represents my RFXtrx433e dongle, then in "Switch Type" I have "On/Off" and "Type" is "Coco GDR2", "House Unit" is "A" and "Unit Code" is "1".

I put the socket into pairing mode (by holding down the button until the LED starts flashing) but the code is not received by the socket.

Do my settings look right?

Mmmm perhaps the MIHO005 isn't supported (it's the control and monitor variant). I've managed to pair 3 MIHO002's with no trouble.

Has anybody paired a MIO005 - any reason why it wouldn't work?

One final question, should the communication between the Energenie sockets and Domoticz be two-way? i.e. if I manually turn the socket on/off using the button on the socket, should it report to Domoticz that it's been turned on/off?

Just happened across this thread...

I have Domoticz running with a RFXtrx433e (default protocols, none added) and I just got three Energenie MIHO002's. I have successfully set them up using the 'Energenie' type setting and randomly chosen 'House' and 'Unit' codes.

My understanding is that the MIHO002 uses one-way communication (i.e. it is only a receiver), so manual switch operation will cause Domoticz to report the wrong state.

The MIHO005 is a transmitter and receiver, so it transmits a manual status change back to the gateway. It apparently also reports power consumption, but at £35 a go I don't think I'll be getting one anytime soon!

The MIHO005 doesn't work as far as I can tell.
