Evohome API script (evo-update.sh) updated on wiki

Post by DanD »

Hi,

Just to let all Evohome API script users that I've just posted an update to evo-update.sh on the Evohome wiki (on behalf the automated home forum user DBMandrake). The details of the update are as follows:
  1. Added support for retrieving full resolution of the hot water temperature.
  2. Improved error handling and recovery so that if it can't for some reason find a matching zone in the V1 API it will cleanly fall back to giving the V2 API temperature reading.

Thanks for updating the Wiki with my temperature resolution changes. :)

I hope people find it useful - one of the main reasons I use Domoticz at the moment is to have a nice web based dashboard that shows my room temperatures at full two decimal place resolution instead of being rounded to the nearest 0.5 degrees then additionally biased another 0.5 degrees towards the set point, which is what Honeywell does everywhere they display the temperatures. Sad but true! :D

I can deal with rounding to 0.5 degrees but biasing a further 0.5 degrees towards the set point really irks me, so I'd rather look at my Domoticz Temperature Dashboard with the true temperature values than the Evotouch controller or official phone app with their fudged values... ;)
