Send numbers and text to a Mysensors node??

Hello, first post so be gentle. I am using Domoticz to test and link various bits of kit, home made and bought, into a more coherent whole. Domoticz was suggested as an easy learning curve to get into this. I have gone round in circles trying to do what I think of as a basic operation and can't figure it out, will somebody please point me in the right direction.

I have several mysensors nodes that I need to send numeric and text data to and cannot find a suitable method (or even an unsuitable one). Some nodes require numeric calibration data on a request by the node. I also have an RF blaster node for switching plug in sockets etc and it is this I have been working on this evening. The blaster node receives a text string of about 16 characters which define the protocol, repeats, etc. and the bit pattern to send. I have defined a dummy switch device and the node to which it has to be sent is visible in the Hardware screens as type S_IR but does not appear in the Devices table. On switching the dummy switch ON I want to send a text string to the node and OFF similar but different string. How do I acheive this?

Any help or pointers will be gratefully received.
