How to (re)include TS0121 plug

Post by EddyG »

I have this plug https://www.zigbee2mqtt.io/devices/TS01 ... s0121_plug
Forgot about this issue:https://github.com/stas-demydiuk/domoti ... issues/679
I set the 'Power_outage_memory' in GUI of zigbee2mqtt, and got my the power problem again.
So I excluded the plug from zigbee2mqtt and try to include the plug again. I did that once before.
This time I only get the message in the zigbee2mqtt log of "Device 'XXX' left the network"
I cannot get the plug to join the network again.

Anyone having a solution?

Solved it by a lot of try and error and holding the plug 10 cm away from the controller. :(

I have he same experience with adding Zigbee devices: get them close to the controller (several meters at most) and then start the new device actions.

Once recognized distance is not a problem (within limits of course, and routers help a lot).

The better method is make the inclusion at definitive place.
It s mandatory for Xiaomi/Aqara stuff because they not move in the mesh, and the zigbee support the "meshed inclusion".

You can make the inclusion close the coordinator and move the device, it works fine, but it s not the normal working mode. But some routers like sonoff can block inclusion, so this method can be usefull.

Can try both methods, from my memory only Xiaomi and Aqara can have issues depending on the inclusion method.

There is a difference between battery powered device and main powered devices, the last act as routers.
And that was what I was talking about. What surprised me that the distance to the controller had to be so close.

I had problems with Sonoff, Xiaomi and Aqaura and an Aduro dimmer plug at longer distances to get connected. Once connected no problems at all at longer distances.
The Hue's in the living room, the first I connected, went fine at the definitive location.
Then I added Sonoffs, also routers. They needed to be close to the controller. Once you know and do it this way this, all went fine, very happy with ZIgbee, the mesh does work!
