Hi,

I also updated to the latest stable version by clicking on update via the webgui without reading the release notes. Result; domoticz has stopped working. I should have know better but the update message kept comming up each time i started domoticz and being “pavloved” to click away such messages by years of “training” in a weak and lazy moment I decided to click update. Something in my subconscious said NO but anyway…….

So the error is “ domoticz: error while loading shared libraries: libssl.so”

What is the best option for me? Being a person not to be described as a Rocket scientist with Linux…

Also, since so many people already made the same mistake before me, maybe it is an idea to remove the webgui update option or put add warning
text in red in this pop-up not to update before chacking the release notes when there is such a large dependancy for a specific new version……

And think again....
You can also switch off the update check in menu settings so you wont get the notification.

New update script is worked on and it should prevent future update actions (it checks your environment first and then updates).

Thank you for confirming. I can not access the backups folder as a regular user. What is a safe option? Change to root user (sudo -i) or change permissions of this folder?

You can access the backup folder as Super User: sudo su
If you are in the domoticz folder you can then do : cd Backups
If you are ready you can leave the super user mode by typing: exit
