Re: Why is dzvents device lookup using name instead of idx
But hey, this is what we have to live with here in Domoticz. I fully agree. Once you get to work with Domoticz in a bit lower and technical detail, you will find peculiarities. It shows that Domoticz was developed in an organic way, as a hobby project; not as a professionally designed software ...

Re: Why is dzvents device lookup using name instead of idx
If you look at other applications with objects in a database (I am an application manager with some database applications in management) they do work with Unique ID's (UID), the name is then irrelevant. Problem in Domoticz database is also that it is not a Unique ID. There are multiple objects with ...

Re: Fresh install Domoticz
I would use docker compose. It is very easy to install, and you know it is just going to work. You do not have to install dependencies, use a certain operating system, and it will keep your system clean. Overhead? Nothing, it runs at 99% native speed.. And when you are going to use zigbee/zwave/mqtt ...

Re: Another "requests" not found
When you use docker, in the config folder you could create a file with the name 'customstart.sh' (this is explained on the docker page)
In here you could let it install packages, for example my content is
pip3 install aiohttp
it will install aiohttp when the docker is started

Ohhh man, please stop all this nonesence about arm v6, pi zero, qemu, please!
Get yourself a RPI 4 or 5 and be happy!
And yeah, the RPI 1 + 2 are known for SD card issues
If your house will depend on it, spend some money.
Home automation ain't cheap! (avoid cheap sensors/hardware)

Re: how to restore my 'generated_scripts'?
You could open both databases in a editor (like SQLite Expert Personal Edition) and copy/paste, but in the web interface is a good option.
50 scripts! Maybe you could simplify this a bit...

Re: What's next for Domoticz??
@Daro1003, That is a valid question. Let me give you some small history lesson here. When I build Domoticz in (let's say) 2012, there were not many systems available like Domoticz. There was a German project called FHem, KlikAanKlikUit had a system, Homeseer, and some other small project. None that ...

Ok, seems when not logged it, there is an issue with the bullets indeed.
So, the solution is to login for now...

Is this all the time, or sometimes?
I suppose the poll interval is still set to 1 minute or lower (2 or 5)
If it is set shorter, try starting with setting this to 1 minute.
It could also be that the API backend had issues

Yes, but not necessary, and you are polling the Enever server to much if you use both solutions. But, could you post a screenshot of what you are, or have, made? Or did you try to replicate the build-in Enever hardware? (Which also created additional utility devices for the current price of ...

Re: when a change is planned and missed
That is correct and would otherwise be extreme dangerous if certain switches/lights would be turned on based on previous timers.
In case of power outages, best to just turn the lights back on?
And use switches that know how to restore to the last current state. (most zigbee/zwave devices can do so)
