Re: [REQUEST] Ikea Trådfri Gateway (smart lights hub controller) plugin?
No problem, and after all the long hours you have put in from your free time, I can only thank you for your efforts! Yes, I struggled, but then finding the solution is very rewarding :) Btw, I think that the basic install/setup of Tradfri has gotten too complex for the average Joe. Especially the ...

Re: [REQUEST] Ikea Trådfri Gateway (smart lights hub controller) plugin?
After weeks and weeks trying to figure out why the IKEA lights stopped working from Domoticz earlier in the year, I finally figured it out... My install was one from the beginning and I never needed to move to the plugin solution. In the days past, I tried and tried, even installed the docker ...

Re: for Alexa HA-bridge or controlicz
I also added this way/info to the Domoticz Wiki pages as another option to connect to Alexa:
1. Controlicz
2. Own Alexa Skill
3. HA Bridge
Didier, I hope that this is ok.
It actually took me days to find this guide, and even then it was almost accidentally

Re: for Alexa HA-bridge or controlicz
YESSS! Excellent detailed documentation resulted in a perfect working solution :D Ok, it took me 2 hours to find that I had only forwarded UDP traffic in my router... but other that that :) All of my devices are controlled on&off, can be dimmed and colors changed AND reading of sensors works like a ...

Re: for Alexa HA-bridge or controlicz
Well, this temperature things seems a lot of hassle. Tonight I will try this: https://github.com/rimram31/dz_smarthome
No need for HA-bridge to control the devices (incl temperature), by building your own Alexa skill...

Re: for Alexa HA-bridge or controlicz
Ok, got it working with my Dot3 and HA-bridge version 5.2.2RC2.
Now I still need to figure out how to let Alexa say the temperature of my sensors (I know the HUE protocol itself does not support it). Any hints are welcome...

Re: for Alexa HA-bridge or controlicz
Im pondering if I should buy the original Philips Hue Bridge or to build it using a Raspberry...
Can the original Philips device even be used for Domoticz, and are there any pro's and con's to using the original vs a Raspberry?
Hoping to hear some experiences from fellow Home Automation junkies

Re: Add a switch manualy without the remote ?
A bit late, but after some trial & error I found the answer: 1. put the physical switch in discovery mode by keeping the button pressed till the led starts blinking 2. echo "10;EMW100;ffffff;0;PAIR;" > /dev/ttyACM0 (where ffffff is the hex address you want to give to the switch and ttyACM0 the ...

Ikea Trådfri Gateway Antenna Hack - Increased Reach
My Ikea Trådfi Gateway could not cover my whole house, therefore I decided to install a normal WiFi antenna. You can of course mount the antenna on the original plastic case, but in order to save (lots of) space, I mounted this small pcd directly in my electricity cabinet. Btw. I have no idea what ...

Re: Ikea "TRÅDFRI" Gateway and smart lights series for ZigBee Light Link (ZLL) lighting
Just a small hint: change the directories in the script (I also added the full directory to the .ini file), if you do not use the /home/pi directory. I have 2 questions though: 1. I can add my lights and control them through the mobile app (so the gateway knows their ID numbers), but if I run ...

Re: Ikea "TRÅDFRI" Gateway and smart lights series for ZigBee Light Link (ZLL) lighting
In the text: "A general ZigBee gateway would definitely be nice, but in the meantime, it's quite easy to get support for the Ikea Trådløs gateway from domotics, using a python module created by ggravlingen as part of the home-assistant project"

Housegard / Origo SA422WS Smoke Detector not recognised
